Amazing social atmosphere, known as the best halls in Newcastle and perhaps the country. Friendly staff who are always willing to help. Food is average but the breakfast is a life saver. Some rooms are nicer than others so that is luck of the draw. Newly refurbished blocks are very comfortable. Location is ideal, lectures are less than a 15 minute walk away and the train station is about 20 minutes. Great view of St James' Park in the mornings.

castle leazes halls were very social, walking down the corridors you'd definitely walk past at least one person you know. The canteen if you were catered was also a very social place to meet up with people and have dinner. The breakfast and dinner were decent with big portions and lots of selection. obviously not the best food youd ever eat but still very decent. In sumer there were lollys and ice creams which were a nice touch. the rooms were okay, on the small side if you were wash basin room but nothing ridiculous. The en suite rooms were far nicer but this showed in the higher prices. Toilets and showers were shared between around 19 people which is a bit grim but i didnt find any problem with this. i never had to really wait to use the facilities. There are lots of social spaces such as the bar and the snooker room. a bonus was having the computer cluster which meant work could be done from the halls rather than having to leave and go to a library or study area elsewhere, especially useful that there were printers aswell.

Great experience in castle leazes, although the bedrooms aren't 5 star, the social aspect couldn't be much better which is what you need in first year. I like the set up of the halls, the 17 other girls on my floor are all really close-by so you're all well connected. If you opt for catered, as a vegetarian I've enjoyed the food. The location is good too, close to the university and I can imagine being on leazes park will be really nice in the summer. In general this accomodation is a great for a smooth transition from school as it maintains that sense of community where some other accomodation falters.

Great location near university and town. Very social and the facilities are basic but this is perfect for a first year student when you're sharing with so many.

Great social experience but not much social space in the halls themeselves. Amazing location, so close to the city centre and St James' Park. Cheaper option. Catered accomodation.

Bit grotty but good location and most social halls in Newcastle. Good food for those that are catered and very affordable. Best halls in Newcastle in my opinion and I'm glad I ended up there

Being catered is actually a blessing. I loved knowing I could wake up and come home to a hot meal. The social aspect too is good fun.

Castle Leazes is by far the most sociable somehow you become friends with everyone! It’s close to the Uni gym and university so no long walks!

It’s so social, the food is good and the facilities all work. Security are really helpful when it comes to being locked out of rooms and the reception are in general very nice.

My own accommodation was fantastic, not too expensive, very friendly and social, variety of rooms and ensuites available - a good choice. Great location. But in general the accommodations are very fancy, now that Richardson Road is replaced with a new fancy place, the poorer students will struggle.
