Brilliant choice of restaurants and food shops. Also lots of independent coffee/book stores in Northern Quarter for artsy types.

The city of Manchester is one of my favorite cities I've been to. Being from the United States, I felt at home with the lively crowd and kind hospitality. There is always something fun going on, like crazy golf, soccer games, pop-up events, and amazing food festivals. Some of my favorite places to eat have been GRUB, Tapeo and Wine, and Saajan. Going out is fun no matter if you choose the city or a student area like Fallowfield, each has a few places to love. I have loved every second in my new city, and hope I can stay longer!

It doesn't really get better than manchester. As a student, the choice of restaurants, nightclubs, shopping (especially northern quarter for vintage clothes shopping etc.(Try afflecks) Chinatown is a great place to eat out, and Wasabi offers great prices for delicious Japanese quisine. There are also three decently sized supermarkets for exotic drinks, foods and snacks. For a healthy lifestyle, no matter where you live in Manchester, there are loads of gym facilities at discounted prices for students, the gym in fallowfields and the aquatic center are great choices.

Manchester is hands down the best city in the UK - drinks are cheap, food is delicious and diverse, the arts and music scene is thriving, the Arndale and Trafford centre has all the shops you could need and you're only a short train away from the beautiful Peak District, what more could you want?!

Manchester is an amazing city to live in. Everyone, and I reinforce, everyone can do an activity that they enjoy in this city. Wether that is going out clubbing, going to gigs, museums, zoo's... you can find a little bit of everything. Unlike London, Manchester is extremely cheap for all that it offers and not so busy. Travelling in Manchester is so easy, affordable and convenient, most of the people are genuinely nice and trying to help. If I had to think of a negative thing to say about this city would be the weather. But then again that's the whole of England. Hopefully this helps.

Manchester is a great place! It really is the new London as everyone is saying but much cheaper and less congested. The nightlife is great (for both students, LGBT and pubs/bars), the Trafford Centre is great for shopping and also spending the day there as they have other entertainment (cinema, golf etc). The Curry Mile aka wilmslow road is great for food with its different cuisines for restaurant and takeaways.

I absolutely love Manchester! It is now my favourite city in the north west. When I was applying to university I always said I didn't want to be in Manchester however now I wouldn't wish to be anywhere else. The people, the food and the variety of shopping means there is something for everyone and I'm sure everyone will love it!!

Nightlife in Manchester is like no other city! From indie clubs to house and techno, Manchester has it all. Also great for bars, restaurants and most importantly... shopping. Manchester's arndale centre has everything you need, and just outside Manchester is one of Europe's top shopping destination- the Trafford centre.

Manchester is full of life. From nightlife to daytime activities there's always something to do, people to meet and stories to tell. People in Manchester are all so friendly and supportive even those that don't look it. Manchester is a diverse city and a great place to be.

Manchester is the great northern powerhouse. Known as a smaller cheaper London, yet still with the hustle and bustle of a big city. Whatever your tastes, whatever you're into, you'll find something to suit you. Be it a night out, a shopping spree or a some fine dining, Manchester is the place to get your fix.

Manchester is a city that is extremely multi-cultured and thrives in being a great city for students. There are many bars, clubs and also activities that are easily accessible and the prices are just excellent. The shopping is great, got everything from your top designers to your bargain stores. It is a city that caters for everybody no matter who you are. There are many great places to eat, if you're after healthy, clean food, then Manchester is a great city to be. Same as if you like the naughty treats (many dessert places).

overall moving to manchester has been amazing, better than i assumed it would be. Public transport is very accommodating and for shopping couldn't be better there are many great locations. The food is also another great thing about manchester there are so many options to meet my dietary requirements and with uber eats and Deliveroo food is delivered to my door in less than an hour.

Manchester is an excellent city for students. The bus services are cheap, convenient and frequent. There are many options for night out with numerous clubs and bars, many of which are student friendly. Both the Trafford Center and Arndale are amazing places to shop and provide lots of places to eat out as well. Manchester is a generally well rounded place for a student to live in!

I have studied in Manchester for just over 2 years now and I absolutely love it. The shops have something for everyone, with high street shops and an area for vintage and record stores. The cafes are often bars or live music venues by night, and the variation of club nights is great. While it's a case of planning ahead as some venues really vary in environment and audience depending on the night, but there is always something to do and it's rare you'll have to pay entry, no more than £3 most of the time if you do. The rent is cheap, the people are friendly, the hospitality industry is buzzing and the art and music scenes are really lively. I don't know anyone who's lived in Manchester who ever wanted to leave!

There are plenty things to do in Manchester. Tons of restaurants to go to whenever you're hungry and when you're bored there's alot to do from bowling, cinemas, shopping etc...

Manchester never lacks for something to do, the night life has something for everyone, from comedy clubs and vibrant clubs at deansgate to boozy golf courses and bowling alleys at junkyard gold and dog bowl. Food wise you can't go wrong around the printworks area with a vast range of quality restaurants within printworks and just outside the urbis centre being high quality and affordable. On top of this shopping wise you'll find everything you'll need within the arndale and down market street, however if you want an all out shopping experience take a trip to the Trafford centre, one of the biggest in England, truly and entertaining day out.

My city Manchester has many different places to eat many such as papa johns, nandos , sizzler etc. Many places are priced efficiently however things such as discounts and offers can have a great impact. As a student discounts come in handy many times.
