To start I'd say the nights out in Manchester are amazing, well much better than what I intilally expected. Always busy and not boring which is a good thing. I do however think the price of most places for drinks are a little pricey as s student but what can ya do. Shopping in Manchester is great, lots on offer and considering you have the Arndale or Trafford centre you don't need much more places to shop! I recently went to junkyard golf which was good , you just drink and play mini golf what else could you want. I'd recommend doing this as it's not too expensive and it is good fun. Going out to eat in Manchester is also good, lots to offer in terms of different cuisines, you can also find some hidden gems sometimes which make super tasty food. Only annoyance I have is transport which is currently an issue seemingly with the train strikes going on recently it is annoying but not much can be done.

Went to Manchester over Christmas and was wonderful. Manchester have some amazing Christmas markets across the Cory, selling a great range of food and drink and cute little stalls. Never felt so festive! The city centre has everything you need, could spend all day in the Arndale shopping centre! Looks lovely this time of year too. Went to Cosmo buffet for food and that is definitely a 5 star from me! Food from around the globe and all you can eat for £15 each, never left somewhere so full, loved the day out and will definitely return.

Manchester is a great city to live in. There Are plenty of different atmospheres to experience, from chilled out cafes and bars to lively venues with gigs and shows. With places like the northern quarter and Spinningfields being so close yet so different culturally it's easy to have a good variety in a small amount of time. There are also small towns like Withington nearby and student populated areas like Fallowfield.

Nice city full of many things to do, can do anything from going to local parks or shopping in the town centre. Overall very diverse and full of many different cultures and languages from across the world, would definitely recommend living here to anyone applying to any unis in Manchester as you won't regret it.

Manchester has got great night life, from late night drinks and food to bowling and mini golf, so you're never bored here. Would prefer if more shops were 24 hours though.

I LOVE Manchester. I'm from London, and I would say Manchester is exactly the same, but half the price, better clubs, and without all the snooty snobby parts. Nights out here are great. There are always plenty of events so it's always easy to find something for you. The Curry Mile is amazing for curries. This and That is great as well, it's so fairly priced! Loads of good vintage shops in the centre. Value for money is soo much better than what I'm used to in London.

Manchester is a great place to live. In the day there's always something to do, there's great shops to satisfy everyones spending needs. Then after a hard day's work of having fun there's plenty of restaurants or cafes to fill your appetite, whether you like Chinese, Indian or a classic British chippy. Manchester is always praised for its night life, so get glammed up to have a perfect evening or get ready to stay out till dawn raving to all the best music. Then head to Maccies after for them much deserved chicken nuggests. There's something for everyone in Manchester!

Manchesteris great place to life in as there is a lot to do such as restaurants, bars. It's reallg convincing as there's a supermarket at the end of every road and it's always lit up so you never feel it's too late to be out.

A nice city but could do more things for cheap for the students in the city... Nights out are okay but there's not much option as many clubs are very similar. Could have more information for the people of the city to know what events are going on without having to constantly search online.

There's something for everyone to do in Manchester. There's plenty of places to eat and lots of entertaining activities to get involved in. Currently, there's a beautiful Christmas market as well as an Ice Village.

There's a lot to do in Manchester and lots of different areas for different tastes. Overall it's not too expensive and easy to get around. There are some bad areas but you learn to avoid them

Moved here from London and live right near the city, and it's so similar and has pretty much anything I want. Food prospects are good, its a really buzzy place all afternoon and evening, just a nice environment.

Manchester is great for vegan food. it's also great for its night scene if you're into that, plenty of places to go. There's also a nice cultural mix so there's always something new to try which is nice. Whatever your need, whatever you enjoy you'll find it in MCR

The possibilities for nights out are endless due to the huge number of clubs and pubs in Manchester. Many of them are also fairly cheap. In terms of accommodation, there are plenty of student halls. An even cheaper options is house sharing with other students, especially in Rusholme, Fallowfield and Hulme although more caution needs to be taken when living in a house to fend off burglars (i.e. don't leave windows open). The Trafford Centre or Arndale are perfect places for shopping, be it clothes or things for the house. Food is relatively cheap as well if you can cook for yourself. Lidl is your best friend.

My time at Manchester so far has been really fun. It's a vibrant city with something for everyone. If you enjoy hustle and bustle it's really a good place to be. Good for art students because of its art culture, museums and exhibitions. It's also good for music lovers as the music scene is really happening.
