Manchester

Manchester is a large city with many districts to explore, although when family have visited in the past I quickly run out of things to show them other than bars. Having more accessible activities or landmarks would make Manchester more attractive not only for students but for tourists. The student area in Manchester (Fallowfield and Withington in particular) is increasingly run down with multiple shops closing and a focus on building more accommodation rather than optimising the areas offerings.

It's a very quiet city compared to London. Hahahahaha the best part is that it's alot cheaper in terms of cost of living and everything's available for people living in the Uni area. The only I thing I can't stand is the random following or talking with strange people sometimes but other than that, Manchester is great.

There is a lot to do when people visit, like the natural history museum and there is a wide range of places to eat, like Prezzo, and a very wide variety of different things to do at night

Shopping is fantastic. Also plenty of places for a night out. it's amazing for food choices too, so varied and so many places to go. But, as a female I find I get harassed a lot, especially around Manchester shopping areas and near the university. I have even considered taking a different route to uni that is longer just to avoid the harassment.

Manchester is a very student based area / city and therefore has plenty of student friendly and discounted areas if you attend the university. In terms of shopping and eating out, Manchester is one of the best cities as it has several shopping centres and all the main shops within walking distance from the university. It terms of nights out there really is something for everyone as there is a more posh/expensive area in Deansgate and several cheaper areas around the city. I have given it only three starts because I am not really a city girl however I do enjoy coming up to Manchester.

Loads to do in the city, loads going on all the time. The uni is so close to everything which is really convenient. Nightlife is really good, lots of variety depending on your music taste.

There's something for everyone in Manchester, with a wide range of different restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Public transport is also really good.

The building at MMU brooks is out of the way and means either a tram and bus or a tram and walk (which I usually do). This is inconvenient when I’m in uni for 2 hours but it takes me that long to get to and from the building.

There are a lot of things to do however they are all mainly associated with alcohol. Frequent transport which is very useful and very convenient. Lots of shops and supermarkets which are easily accessible. There is a high rate of crime.

Public transport is great. Easy to get around. Night life is pretty good, some nice cheap clubs for students.
