City halls are pretty well hidden, and the myth is that Fallowfield is the only place to have a real student experience. Not true. Wright Rob was a fantastic experience, in fairness - mostly due to the people staying that year, we were lucky everyone was so friendly and sociable. Free Pres nights, all of freshers, an awesome RA made my first year at Uni an absolutely insane experience.Relatively iInexpensive also, which is a bonus.

PROS: In good proximity to the engineering buildings and lecture halls. Accessible through the university's free bus and close to the city center. The room is quite spacious and comfortable, with a good view from your window. The kitchen is also big and well-equipped. CONS: The rooms near the kitchen might suffer from some noise problems, and there is usually some thieving/hygiene issues as 16 people share the same kitchen, which sometimes end up as the party place.

Wright Robinson Hall is located at the north campus in The University of Manchester. It is very near to the Joule library, Barnes Wallis student hut, The Mill and Renold buildings. Most importantly, it is very near to the Manchester Piccadilly train station where it ease your travelling to and from Mancester airports and Sainsbury and Co-op shops are just within the station where you can get meal deals at low cost. The hall will host celebration parties more often than you thought in the common room. The common room has a pool and it is a cosy living room. I like my room so far. I have been living in this hall for three years. For this year, I got a big twin room offer which is a great deal because I get to stay with my friend and that's curtain draw a halfway line of our space.

Wright Robinson is a great place to be at for a student on a budget. WR has an excellent location, literally a 10 minute walk to the heart of the city centre, which has EVERYTHING you need- from groceries to clubs restaurants. Conveniently next to the accommodation are Barnes Wallis and Joule Library, which are great study spaces. There are many engineering students living here as their lecture building is 1 minute away. For other students, to get to the main south campus, there is a free 147 bus two minutes away from the accommodation, which would take 7 minute journey to campus; or it would just be a mere 15 minute walk. As for social life, you can decide how you want to spend your time, as there is a fair mix of studious and fun people. However, with the cheap rent, the hall is bound to be a bit run-down. Rooms are spacious but old. The kitchen and toilet are shared. Sometimes supplies, and heating do not work and building maintenance can be quite unresponsive. There isnt really a common room for socialising. And depending on whether you're lucky with your flatmates, sharing a kitchen and toilet with 16 people can get quite messy. Other than that, Wright Robinson is a decent place to be.

The location was absolutely unbelievable considering the price, and was something that made it very easy to marry studying at home with going into my classes. In addition to this, the people that I lived with were genuinely the best I could have hoped for .

The rooms were very large compared to other halls. The kitchen was shared between around 15 of us which could be quite messy. But I was on the 8th floor so I had a great view of the City.

Wright Robinson Hall is a great value for money. Being given the option of living alone or in a shared room, the price is considerably cheap. Furthermore, it is located within a ten-minute walk from the centre and twenty minutes from the campus which is comfortable. Although the building might seem slightly old or even shabby, the price that you pay and the location makes it an absolutely pleasant experience.

The new kitchen is lovely. The radiators are a bit temperamental as are the showers. They work but you have to get it just right. My room is so good for the price. lots of events for nights out and also pizza nights

Definitely the perfect accomodation in terms of location if you are an engineering student! Each floor has 16 students in them, either male or female, so you will be sharing the kitchen and toilets with 15 others! Great views if you get one of the rooms on the top floors including the Etihad Stadium!

Pros: Location, 10 mins walk to the city centre and the nightlife, good for engineers, next to Manchester Piccadilly. Suits if you're independent/you have to make more of an effort. Cheap for the location. Cons: Lots of internationals who aren't interested in socialising, nowhere near as social as the fallowfield halls, far away from SU sports, not close to a big supermarket only the little ones, not as much of a community feel.

Dont be afraid of the old building! It has a good space for an ordinary single bed room with the wash basin. There is an Amazon Locker downstairs and the reception is really good. I was super lucky and met lots of amazing friends on my floor and the kitchen is big :) Easy to have friends over and socialize! Internet is good, location super convenient! City only10 mins away, 10 mins walk to the main campus and theres a free bus 147 to the main campus on weekdays!
