Dalton Ellis Hall is undeniably a nice and decent hall. For location wise, although it’s a little bit far from the university area, but you can always buy a annual bus pass because the bus stop is just only in front of the hall. While if you don’t, you can go to the school by walking. It takes around 25mins to reach university place from the dalton hall. Moreover, Dalton Ellis hall has also provided you with the essential facilities and amenities. For example, squash court, basketball court, football court, and a community area( with pingpong table, football table, Xbox, snooker table). There is even a amazon locker in the hall. Furthermore, the room is pretty fair to the rental price. My bedroom which in the main block is really large compared with other blocks. Overall, dalton Ellis Hall is highly recommended to stay-in. I had a fun time in my first year with spending time with international students around the world in dalton Ellis Hall.

Criminally expensive but so are all university halls. Quiet location so very helpful during exam periods, only about 10 mins walk to university main campus. Average cleanliness and maintenance but in general one of the better halls of residence. Catering is monotonous but decent.

Dalton Ellis. When I got assigned my halls and opened the email, I had no idea. It was not one of the ones that I had chosen. And that's the thing with Dalton Ellis - no one who lives there wanted to be there. It's location is good in that it is close to uni, but the road you have to walk down - from the Lidl turn off down to conyngham road is dark and dangerous. The halls are drab. Graham rooms are like prison cells - tiny, with breeze block walls. We had a spider problem and a mouse in the kitchen. We shared a shower between 18 people. The food is gross. It is just quite a miserable place, and living there you realise why no one signed up to be there.

The location of this was poor, approximately a ten minute walk from Oxford Road, which was rather dangerous at night. In my block, the social areas were two metre by two metre tiny kitchens, with no seating, making it a very unsociable hall. The social experience was little to none. Even though it was a freshers hall, the majority of students weren’t first years, being postgraduates or second or third years. This meant that it was a very unsociable hall. In fact, I didn’t speak to my neighbours for longer than five minutes more than three times that year. It was deeply disappointing.

The halls were about 20 minutes from my university building, which was nice on the days you felt like stretching your legs but not for waking up at 8:50 for a a 9am lecture/lab. Is catered, so you don't have to waste time cooking. It's a very social hall. Generally okay with the place.

The room is very small and for what you’re paying it isn’t worth it. It’s a literally a shoebox. The security is lacking and one key can get you into all buildings across dalton Ellis hall unlike other Manchester accommodation halls. The food is mediocre at best and they put far too much salt and pepper on the food. They have minimal washing facilities for clothes and for the number of people staying at the hall it is just not enough.

Social experience at this hall is pretty good and the location is alright in terms of how close it is to UoM. However, the Curry Mile area can be dangerous at night time if you're by yourself. The wi-fi is bad and disconnects every 2 minutes. Food quality is aright, except on the weekends. Reception and food staff have sometimes bad attitudes towards students. I live in an ensuite and the shower looks like it's supposed to be in a prison. NO HEATING DURING NIGHTIME, and even if the heater is on, you have to press the button continuously so that you don't get sick or whatever. Definitely not value for money, and I don't recommend anyone staying here, unless they care about the social life than the living facilities.

Between University and Fallowfield, shops close by, room without pictures and posters looked like a brick prison, socials every now and then good fun
