Location is good as it's walkable to uni. However the area is not as sociable as fallowfield, the halls generally aren't very sociable either. The price is very high for what you get. There are also only two washing machines for the entire block and they break all the time.

Burkhardt House was a very small part of the Hulme Hall campus - consisting of only 16 flats. It was right opposite the Victoria Park student bar which was very convenient. The bar often had events and ‘nights’ on such as movie and election viewings, comedy nights, and student bands performing. Other facilities include the washing machines and dryers. The system of the washing machines was very limited and frequently did not work - either not washing clothes properly, going on an overly long cycle when not stated as such, and ‘locking’ themselves unnecessarily. Since there were only two of each machine for all burkhardt blocks this proved to be an issue multiple times. However, once notified the issues were dealt with rather promptly. The reception dealt with holding and distributing of mail and parcels. I have had a few issues with deliveries, although most of these I can attribute towards the delivery rather than issue with the Halls facilities themselves. The resident life advisors were very nice, although we have had many many issues with their system of disciplining for certain ‘rule breaking’ in the halls.

Even though it seems expensive, halls are one of the best experciences on the first year, and the whole Hulme Hall in which I live in is one of the best the uni has to offer: there are catered halls in it as well as halls with en-suite bathrooms, there is a library to go study in, a football field, gym, piano room and we have a bar. It's also 15 minutes away from the Main Uni Campus

all good, but we had rats for a month which wasn’t nice. some staff are rude, room was good, common areas are big enough, very good location, close to a lot of shops and a 10 minutes walk to uni

Had a ensuite so didn't have to share with others. Kitchen had cleaners which came in every week. Room was below ground level though so could hear people above and outside.
