Nights out: really fun, but can be quite expensive - important to pre-drink at home/accommodation Food: again really good, but can be quite expensive Shopping, things to do: loads of shops and tourist attractions including parks, palaces, museums, art galleries etc. Value for money: really good experience if you make the most of it

I chose this uni because it has everything that I needed, the decision was easy to make and everything fell into place like it fit perfectly.

Queen Mary is 5 minutes from the Olympic village, 10 minutes from Shoreditch and opposite Victoria Park and its canal. There are pubs all along Mile end road which make it the great spot for pub crawls, supermarkets and cheap food options nearby also transport to any part of London.

In the bustling area of South Kensington, you're only a few minutes walk away from the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the V&A. There are loads of great places to eat around there too (di Mario's being a personal favourite!), and the transport links (tube and bus) are great. Our union is right over the road from the university too, as are quite a few halls, which is even better!

Being in the capital city is an amazing experience. Good transport and every type of club, restaurant and entertainment you can think of, all in walking distance

There are always loads available and to do for every sort of person and interest. The transport services are good but can get expensive and long. It gets very expensive the closer you get to Central.

Attending a University in the heart of London is an amazing experience. Not only do you get to see famous landmarks and sites on a daily basis, but you get to be explore London in whatever way you want to. There is always something for everyone, whether it is bars, restaurants or shopping. London has it all. On many occasions after a day of lectures or studying have me and some fellow students gone for a wonder to see which new bar or restaurant we can find.

London is one of the most wonderful cities in the world. It has excellent transportation throughout the city itself and links all over the uk. It is an extremely international city with restaurants that represent all nationalities. Great entertainment, diversity, history and museuams with free access.

Nice places to eat in stratford. expensive though. If you ain't got the p's, got KHF in Stepney green. Hella cheap. Go karting near mile end park, couple pool rooms to go near Stepney green and bowling in Stratford shopping centre.

Being a postgrad student in London is pretty different to being an undergrad student. It changes from clubbing to more civilised drinks. There are great bars around London, whether you want a chilled night, live music, more of a club atmosphere or weird and wonderful cocktails. There are plenty of shops nearby of course and you're never too far from the buzz even if your campus isn't in central London!

Amazing things to do in the city, many events occurring through out the year around London. Shopping here is great, you've got 2 Westfields, Brent Cross, Oxford Street and many more. There is a large variety of food on offer from all different countries, there are many good cheap eats around London however there are also very expensive restaurants. It's the best of both worlds living in London.

Great places to eat at for reasonable prices. Lots of cultural and historical places of interest like theatres and museums. Great transport links.

A great city. There is always something going on so those days you want to rest and take it easy just take a step outside and see what's going on.

Being in the centre of London is THE most incredible experience ever. London has anything you could possibly wish for. My favourite London Tap Jam, a monthly night of improvised tap!

Great city! Big shopping centre where you can find everything you need, lots of student-friendly places to eat and, of course, brilliant nights out!

The location of Queen Mary is incredible, as it is in the vibrant and up and coming part of East London. It is extremely close to central by being located on the central line in zone 2 and is near to the best night life areas including shoreditch and soho. There are also loads of cheap events and free things to do and a lot of sights to see!

London boasts the best nightlife of any place I've ever lived in or been to. Whether you fancy going to the pub/a bar/a club, you can guarantee that London won't leave you disappointed. Food here is great - again, there is essentially an unlimited selection of restaurants to choose from if you fancy eating out. Supermarkets are always in close proximity, however most of them are small due to being located centrally so the choice can sometimes be limited (not really an issue). Shopping for anything else is easy, whether it be for clothes, university resources, things for the house etc... - all you need to do is head towards zone 1. London, albeit expensive, is good value for money in my opinion. I appreciate that there are other places in the UK where you are able to get that city experience for less, but for me it's a case of you get what you pay for. I personally feel that it's a shame that many students overlook London because they've heard it's too expensive or doesn't allow for a good student experience.

London! What more to say? It is the city of the world. Everything is close by and you can buy anything you want. Night life is okay.

I live in East London and I find that it is perfect for being a drama student. Of course it is expensive in London but aside from the money, I can get into central London so easily. Any night of the week I can head into the centre and see so many different shows and be able to come back due to the night tube. There is something for everyone in London!

London is a wonderful place to study. It is filled with many opportunities to meet new people and experience new things. It accomodated for people of all different backgrounds and beliefs, with something to do for everyone. In London, you are spoilt for choice of food with transport around the big city being so easy. One downside however, is how expensive this beautiful city is. Accomodation ranges from 500-1500 per calendar month, and with student finance not covering the entire cost, it can be stressful for students to meet a good standard of life. On the other hand, it is filled with activites that are free such as walking to the top of primrose hill and seeing the breath taking site of the entire city and so you can never be bored.

London has everything you could possibly need or want! It’s fun, busy and always interesting. While there are issues with the cost of living here, and sometimes it can feel just too big and too busy, being at the centre of so much is a great opportunity and one that is hard to miss when you live here.
