It is very well located, especially for those at Guy's Campus, perhaps a 40 min walk from Strand campus max. The facilities are alright, although they are in hidden/out of sight places so they rarely attract people. The gym has very few machines. Socially, a very quiet place. My room and kitchen are very handy and I love them.

En-suite rooms are small and the toilets are very small. Alright social experience but lacks a lot of space. Very high rent and also cleaning the room is a struggle as the vacuum cleaners don't work properly.

Centrally located, being in these halls is probably the only way you'll live in the city so young. Although the rooms are incredibly small and en-suites incredibly basic and quite old the location and social experience definitely outweighs this.

Best halls at kings for Social experience with over 700 students altogether for freshers week and beyond. Room and kitchen are adequate. Bonus is that room us en-suite but it is more like a wet room as it is so small horrible yellow colour walls but grow fond of them eventually. Great location in general and only 5 min walk away from guys campus. Staff can be temperamental sometimes but generally ok. Overall a great location and like a little student village.

Great Dover Street was a decent halls of residence considering the price. The fact that it was en suite was what sold me the most to be honest as i was not looking forward to sharing a toilet/bathroom with my flatmates. In terms of location it is incredibly ideal as it within 15-30 minutes walking distance from both Strand and Guy's campuses. It is also literally on the cusp of zone one making it easy to get whereever one needs to go.

In general living at GDS was a great first year of University! It was very close to my campus (Guy's) and therefore it made it easy (and cheap!) to travel to University each day. I was put in a floor with 7 other people, 4 of which were on my course. This meant it was easier going to lectures because I had people to go with. The room and bathroom were what you would expect of a student room. I really liked having a computer room during exam season because it meant I could go there and study. The laundry room was on the ground floor of my block and therefore it was very easy to get t and use. It was very expensive for what you got but thats London!

It's a large non-catered halls, which I like because there's so many people here but the problem is it's hard to meet them because it's not very social unless you have a sociable flat which I don't really. The actual room is decent except there's been a lot of complaints about bugs which is disgusting.

In terms of location it was fairly good being a 40 minute walk to strand, 30 minute walk to Waterloo and 10 minute walk to guys. It also had good access to bus routes and the tube with borough station just up the road. It was also nice to have an easy access gym, although the equipment was admittedly. However in most other other regards it was rather unsatisfactory, in terms of the staff those on during the day were extremely pleasant and helpful while the night time security were often rude, unpleasant and unprofessional. Amenities were also poor with the "ensuite bathrooms" being little more than closet sized wetrooms. All of this considering the rather large price tag definitely put a dampener on my overall experience.

The location is nice. Next to borough high street and tube station so good commute. There is also a Sainsbury's local right in front of it. Bed is comfrotable but beware the shower is over the toilet so that will take some getting used to. There are also always events happening in the common room if you like that type of thing.

The best uni hall for social life for students at Guy's, Waterloo, and Strand campuses. Very central location, has everything you need close to the halls. Staff are helpful. The drawbacks are the tiny-sized rooms and the ever increasing rent price which makes them very low value for money. Used to be cheaper, also used to have mini-fridges in the rooms, which are now gone - a stupid move from the halls!

Great common room facilities. Great location for guys campus. Overall nice area to live in. Very close to borough underground station. Very big complex.

The halls are in a great location. Super close to central London and some Kings campuses. The facilities are hit and miss. The showers and toilets are terrible, its 2018, we should not still have to use wet rooms. The room itself is carpeted and gross, because the vacuum cleaners do not work. Overall, I would not go back there. The social experience is good, is overshadowed by the sub-par conditions.

The yellow walls of this building still haunt my dreams. The lift was broken the entire year I was there. Security is ridiculously tight. Rooms are tiny. Only good thing is the location

Located in South London, Great Dover Street Apartments is a perfect place to live for all students, no matter what KCL campus they are at, as transport links from Borough or Elephant and Castle allow one to get pretty much anywhere in London. Though the immediate area around GDSA is a ted bit too quiet and too residential, two student pubs (both around 2 mins away from GDS), a Sainsburys and a chicken shop are there to satisfy one's main needs. Tabard Gardens, a park right behind GDSA, is a great place to chill and have a cheeky barbecue in the summer. If one is craving more variety, one can always walk to Borough Market and indulge in consuming delicatessen, or explore Waterloo and the South Bank, where numerous Bankside restaurants offer cuisines from every part of the globe. GDSA offers a number of facilities, such as music practice rooms, the gym, as well as the social space with a pool table and a table football. Social spaces, as well as kitchens are regularly and thoroughly cleaned, which allows for a great living experience. Rooms are nice, too. A standard ensuite would normally feature a working desk, a bed, a wardrobe, shelves and a cupboard. This type of rooms sure could not be expected to be large and spacious, but most people nevertheless find it very cosy. The bathroom at an ensuite is quite tiny, and most rooms experience occasional issues with hot water supply, which may stop after half an hour of continuous use, but it is not that big of an issue if one would consider that a contrasting hot and cold shower strengthens one's immune system. GDSA is a very social place, where one makes friends seemlessly. Residence Assistants offer a wide range of activities from training and gym sessions to cooking classes, which allows students, both experienced and new, to get to know each other by working together. However, even if eventsone like that are not one's cup of tea, there is always someone in the smoking area of GDSA, which is where spontaneous nights out start and life-long friendships are made. All in all, therefore, because of its great location, good facilities and magnificent social experience, I feel that GDSA is a great place especially for first-year undegraduates, for whom it is crucial that they explore London and socialize as much as possible; however, students of other years will enjoy living there, too.

Located on the South Bank, Great Dover Street Apartments offers the perfect ratio of price to distance from university campuses. It is also very close to a major transport hub - Elephant and Castle, which makes it a great choice for students who like to explore far-off areas of London such as Westminster or Mayfair. Though the area around GDSA itself is mainly taken up by council housing and is therefore not very exciting, two student pubs (each around 2 mins away from the halls), a Sainsbury's and a chicken shop are able to provide one with most things that one desires without having to go further away. For more variety, one could either go down Borough High Street to indulge in delicatessen from Borough Market, or walk to the Cut and Waterloo, which are all around 10 mins away. The residence itself is in a very good state, communal areas are always clean and mostly tidy. There is a music practice room, a gym, social space with a pool table and table football. Smoking area is another gem of GDSA. It is the spot where nights out start and finish and where life-long friendships are made. Rooms are decent at GDSA; a standard room features a bed, a working desk, a chair, shelves and a wardrobe. Residents often complain about showers and hot water supply, but honestly, a person can get used to anything. I would say that the location of GDS definitely outweighs what could otherwise be seen as fairly high rent, and that it is a great place to stay.

GDS has been a nice place to live in for my first year. Things that can be improved include laundry services (oftentimes many of the machines are out of order) and controlling courtyard noise levels after 11pm.

Great Location, very convenient, and close to supermarkets and the tube and the city centre. The gym is well equipped and there is a good heater in the room for winter. The downside is that there are many silverfish, which is pretty gross.

Nothing is ever worth having such a small wet room - but the people and the room itself were so amazing!

Great if you want to live in social halls, there’s a common room and study room too! Rooms are a little small/cramped but the rooms are ensuite so it’s worth the compromise on room size!

This was a great accommodation for students who want to socialise and an agreeable price. As well as the free gym facilities and a computer room, students enjoy a sociable layout so that they can meet new people. A disadvantage is that the en suits are very small, however there is 24 hour security and the staff are very friendly. Social events are held every few weeks.

Good central London location ideal for medical students but a pain for humanities students, very small box rooms with single beds, en suite wet room with toilet and shower is quite handy. The social experience is poor, international students don't integrate and there's a strict one guest per resident rule which makes socialising difficult. £200 a week is a humongous rip-off, next door LSE has identical accommodation built to the exact same specifications but charges £140!

Great location as it's only ten minutes away from my campus. Good transport links as it's five minutes away from Borough station. Brilliant people on the whole. Terrible facilities - the shower goes off in the middle of showering and don't even get me started on the toilet. The ensuite is more of a washroom and even though the rooms are nice, the place looks a bit depressing (needs a re-paint). Freezing rooms by the way.

rent is good and location is great! has a nice little park nearby for some fresh air. room sizes are a bit small and sometimes when you open the tap there is no water. overall nice community feel and common room and gym is also great!

The location is great as it’s a 30 minute walk from strand campus and a 5 minute walk from Guy’s. It’s nice to live slightly out from central London as it’s still close enough to everything but a different part of the city to get to know. The rooms are standard but a good space with large windows. Although the ensuite could be decorated and designed to be more pleasant and efficient. There’s a good size gym which is very conveinient to use and a common room with activities in like pool and darts. Overall, it’s fairly social but not massively so. It’s a good price for the overall package and there’s lots to do in the local area, like various food markets, and places to go for a drink.
