Crown Place

Crown place is perfect for first year students! Great location being on campus with a maximum 10 minute walk to any lecture theatre and a 15/20 minute walk to the city centre. All the rooms are clean and modern with great facilities and an en-suite.

It was very clean and spacious, with nice sized rooms. However quite pricey and doors lock automatically and are supposed to be kept shut, which makes it slightly more difficult to be social.

Nice accommodation but overpriced. Well kept and clean and conveniantly close to campus and town. The noise curfew is a bit annoying and is not as lively as other accommodations.

Good size rooms, nice bathrooms but quite noisy and very hot. Not as sociable as other halls. Good kitchen space but lacks a nice living room. Excellent location.

Great location and best facilities! Such a lovely room and en suite is such a bonus. Beds are comfy and workspace is really good. Lots of storage. Not the most social of halls and residential advisors can be quite strict too. Halls also get very hot in the summer.

Perfect location right on campus, 5 minute walks to lectures. 15 minute walk into town where all clubs and shopping centre is. Well looked after and maintained by lovely staff.

The location was ideal being right next to campus and the reception was a fun, social space to play pool, table tennis or play station. The rooms were quite small but had lovely showers and a desk to work at which was handy, however the price per week for the accommodation is far too high for students and is concerned only for profit. The rooms also got extremely hot, especially at the start and end of the year, with limited space for windows to open, air conditioning would have been ideal.

Good location. Small number of people to share with. Quite high price. Not helpful that washing machines are in a different building.

A really nice place to stay, central on campus, takes only a few minutes to walk to lectures, shops and the library. Also only 15 minute walk down the hill into town and the train station. The common room is really nice to both work in, and play pool. All the staff are lovely and accommodating on reception too! Nice room, good desk for working, a really lovely bathroom with huge shower and spacious in general but bed is slightly uncomfortable and I needed a mattress topper. Another issue is the fact the accommodation is very expensive, both for the room and washing facilities, it costs well over the amount student loan gives.

Good location but not much outdoor space, cleaning staff can be iffy, always boiling as well, but rooms are decent quality. A safe choice but nothing amazing

Location is excellent for the uni as it is in the middle of north campus. Rooms are a good size with an en-suite, however the beds are very uncomfortable as crown don't bother changing the mattress unless you complain. It's also very hot in the room, we had to keep the windows open all year round. Many of us had issues with the showers overflowing as well. Kitchen/living area isn't great for what you pay as the area is small Social experience isn't great, all the doors are fire doors so shut behind you meaning that you are fairly limited to the people in your flat

Crown Place was a good place to stay in first year. Amazing location on campus, close to all lectures. The accomodation itself is really nice and modern. The bedrooms have a lot of storage space. Maintenance will fix faults very quickly. It was also reassuring to have 24 hour security. RAs definitely aren't as strict as people say on the no noise after 11 rule - it would have to be really late and really excessive.

Personally I found Crown Place to be the perfect mix of social and private. The flats are clean and modern and the living spaces are great areas to socialise (I loved my flatmates) but your own room was a nice getaway if you want some alone time or study time. It was very useful to have cleaners and bin men- you do not realise until you go on to second year. Having an en-suite is a luxury and they are really clean and easy to keep that way. The halls also has a committe that do loads of great free events like film nights with free food, or pres with free vodka slushies and glitter stalls (a particular favourite of mine). The only slight downside is that people (plumbers, residential advisors, cleaners) will just walk in, so when you're in th kitchen making breakfast, be ready to socialise or make your escape!

It has a nice sized kitchen, clean living area Sofa is quite uncomfortable though and it is hard Rooms are a good size but little ventilation. Lots of events within Crown Place, great for integrating with others. Extremely friendly people at service desk. Internet cuts out at times very annoying

Loud courtyard got for socialising not so good for sleeping. En suites are a blessing to the world.

Love the location and the effort to organise many socials! Laundry room is small and machines don't work during certain hours.

Crown Place is many things. Home from home, a place to make new friends. A students first taste of independence, free from the reign of their parents. Crown is in a perfect location, the amount of times I went for naps between lectures. The reception was a hoot, mostly couldnt fault it. Mostly. For what I was paying I expected a hotel standard room, it was nice sure, but it was a sauna with poor wifi. And not exactly the most social of places, sure you'd see mates out and about or using the dreaded circuit laundry, but apart from that it was pretty poor compared to carnatic. Overall I give crown a solid 6.5/10.

Very good quality rooms. Fairly isolating in rooms, not much social space. Good at organising social activities to get everyone to engage in. Very good location for university and the city centre. Laundry facilities fairly poor, need many more washers/dryers to cater for whole halls.

Amazing location; could be at at a lecture in 5 minutes. Really well furnished with adequate wardrobe and drawer space. Desk was also suitable. They also held good social events to meet other people too. Green spaces around felt nice to walk around.

Great location as it's within uni campus, so you can easily get to lectures and into town. Quite modern compared to other halls and has nice common area. There's cleaners that come in throughout the week. Overall it is a good accommodation, but it's way overpriced and the laundry room could be improved.

I have only lived in crown Place for 6 weeks but I absolutely love it! I was worried about not feeling at home but I couldn't be more wrong, my room is so spacious and yet still homely. There is a fantastic amount of storage space in my room, my work area is a great space and my ensuite bathroom is superb. The cleainless and maintenance of crown Place is second to none with frequent visits from the lovely cleaners here to help. The allocation is amazing and so central to everything - both uni lecture and study areas and the city centre for leisure.

Great place to be at uni. Halls were good but studio rooms don't have a shared kitchen so was a bit isolated. Was expensive but rooms were immaculate.

All the accommodation at Liverpool is overpriced. However, crown place is central to campus, en suite for both double and single rooms and offers studio rooms which include a TV and kitchen area which makes the cost slightly less painful. It is EXTREMELY hot all year round, which isn't too devastating in winter but for your own sanity pack lots of t-shirts and shorts for the less cold months. There isn't any real study space which a lot of the other halls offer, but it is in a central location to both libraries so it's not too much hassle going over to get your work done. It's designed in blocks, A-H, and your room card will allow you into your block and your flat. This is great for security but not so good when you've turned up at pres a little late, no ones checking their phone and they can't hear you knocking on the flat door to get in. The RAs who exist purely to ruin your fun at pres are a lot less strict at crown in comparison to some other halls so that is a bonus at least. The reception area at crown is the only social area, it has a ping pong table and a pool table but no one really uses it that much since it involves going outside to get to and as you'll learn very quickly, Liverpool is absolutely Baltic. The rooms themselves are a good size. It's worth paying the extra for the double because you do actually get a bigger desk and more wardrobe space as well as the bigger bed and lets face it you're probably never paying back all your loan anyway so make the most of it.

Very modern sophisticated, clean accommodation. Halls between 5-8 people sharing. Perfect if you like to socialise with others but also like your own space as you have you’re own en suite bathroom but a shared kitchen and living area. Perfect location as it is on campus so would be a maximum 10 minute walk to lectures and only a 15/20 min walk into the city centre which is perfect for nights out. There is always lots of fun events going on which involves blocks getting together for parties or in activities such as go karting.
