Leeds has been a fabulous city to go to university. It is multicultural, diverse and vibrant. The prices are reasonable and the city centre offers such variety in terms of shopping, eating, drinking and dancing. The university is also fantastic with top class facilities and opportunities for everyone.

Great city! Loads of events and concerts on most of the time with tonnes of bars and venues for a good night out. Food and drink can be found at good prices in certain areas. There are a large amount of chain and independent restaurants as well as lots of shops giving you access to anything you could possibly need. Good transport links with the train station and airport, good bus links as well.

Leeds is a good all rounder city. Vibrant night life yet still up and coming for the daytime. Food wise there’s a wide variety. Leeds trinity shopping centre provides Trinity kitchen where a range of food is produced in a small space meaning if you can’t decide this space is ideal. The transport is forever being updated in Leeds with buses every 10 minutes and trains even more frequent. There is even a free water taxi which is a great experience.

The entire city itself is really compact with an abundant amount of bars, restaurants and nightlife to suit any budget. Whether you’re someone who likes drum and bass, electronic, club classics, jazz music or classics; there really is a venue for everyone to have a good time. Leeds nightlife scene has expanded dramatically since 2010 with places like Angelicas and Alchemist in the Trinity centre offering some of the best cocktails and views of Leeds skyline. There is also Greek street which is now cornered off to traffic during the evening, so you can sit out on the summer evenings and wander into each bar as you please. Call lane in the south-east corner of the city is the most infamous street for nightlife. With back to back bars all catering to different music tastes and styles, you will certainly find something there for you! Leeds also takes pride in it efforts to support LGTBQ+ communities and one area is known for representing those communities the most. Commonly known as the Freedom Quarter, the streets that occupy the immeadiate south of the centre is the home to the vibrant Viaduct showbar and Queens court. Bars you certainly should encounter in your time in Leeds!

There’s always something do in Leeds, with most things walking distance or a short uber ride away. The city centre has a range of shops, restaurants, cafes etc., with both cheap and more expensive options. As for nightlife, there’s usually something for everyone with big events happening most weeks, although these can be quite expensive.

Leeds has a lot of nice places to drink, eat and shop. The nights out can cost a bit too much money but are completely different from from what you get anywhere else. The best place to go shopping is definitely trinity, it has so many high end shops and plenty of food places to eat at making it a great day out.

Friendly city with lots of choice for clubs, bars, even crazy golf. Good for d&b and house but less so for r&b. Cheap drinks because its the north. Students everywhere & they're easy to spot as mostly very indie. Loads of really nice food places for different cuisines and and diets.

When I came to Leeds I was shocked at how amazing it is! There are many things to do from eating out in a wide range of restaurants to shopping and cinema trips. Right next to my university there is always something going on from the German market around Christmas time to the ice arena just after new year. So many things to explore which makes your uni life memorable! I love Leeds!!

Campus very close to the city centre and even so has good public transport. Lots of good clubs for nights out & they’re not particularly expensive. As it’s in the north it’s pretty cheap anyway, which is obviously great as a student on a tight budget. Would definitely recommend Leeds as a good student city especially because of the price and the things to do.
