James Baillie Park is a lively residence full of amazing students and incredible staff. A short 15 minute walk from campus and 5 minute walk to nearby Headingley gifts students the ability to enjoy a peaceful surrounding on the outskirts of the city whilst still being close to all the action.

Amazing halls! Extremely sociable, everyone is lovely and a great location in Hyde Park (right in the student area and you don't feel like you're constantly on campus all the time). 100% recommend!

James Baillie Park so far has been amazing. They put in a lot of time in terms of organising mixer events e.g. bbqs, fun fairs and trips to ensure you settle into uni life and meet people straight away. It's a larger accomodation filled with great people so you are bound to get along with someone here. It is definitley one of the more louder and sociable accommodations, which if you are like me appreciate! It's a bit further away from the university however, it is well connected with the bus stop at the end of the road and if you want to walk it the journey through Hyde park is beautiful. Also, by its placement in Headingley/Hyde park area you are in a really fun student area with all the restaraunts, pubs and supermarkets you need! It also allows you to get to know the area of which we most likely will end up living in second/third year. In terms of the facilities you get what you pay for, there's a few technical/practical issues from time to time but nevertheless good.

Big spacious kitchen, huge shared bathroom with a bath, and my room is big and matress very comfy. Such good value for money for what you get!! The most social accommodation by FAR. And a 25 minute to uni, which is quite far but not too bad.

Great location, 20 minute walk to campus and a short walk to a variety or student pubs. Great social life, lots of good people. spacious kitchens to have parties in and lots of freedom to do so. Small room but don’t spend a lot of time in there.

Fun halls and great people, good nightlife. If you want to work don't come here, couldn't recommend it more for first year!!

A nice distance from uni, not too far or too close. Great facilities but circuit is really expensive and would be good if washing machines were in flats. the most social halls in Leeds, such good fun and an amazing year. So many flat parties and after parties and a really good buzz around the place. Room doesn’t have enough storage I’d say, but otherwise good.

James Baillie Park is by far the best halls of residence in Leeds. Yes, it may be a little further out than some of the others but it makes up for the twenty minute walk in what it offers in social experiences. James Baillie is a social hub, whatever day of the week you will always be able to find a party going on. The rooms are adequate, and really just what you would expect from student accommodation but if you are looking for luxury then James Baillie definitely isn't for you! However, if you choose James Baillie as your halls choice then you definitely won't regret it!

amazing social, doesn’t come with basic things like a kettle which you would hope the cost would cover but wouldn’t change halls even if u paid me

If I were in ground hog day I wouldn't mind reliving a day in James Baillie. Provided it wasn't the day the sub warden shut down our MacBook party that sucked. Don't let this deter you as this was a one off, I don't think anyone had heard of a sub warden before that day. The company was above par, location is the perfect distance between Uni and the local amusements/ attractions and the common room even had Ben and Jerry's, so I didn't even need to be judged by the One stop cashier for going through 5 tubes a week. To conclude if JB was an Uber driver it would provide snacks and have a 4.8 star average, what a student halls! 4.8 do I hear you cry? Alas nobody’s perfect including our beloved James Baillie, it had hideous curtains.

The room has everything you need, large desk, comfy bed and an en suite. It’s perfect location, between headingly and Hyde Park, allows you to enjoy the pretty shops in headingly but to still be part of the student buzz Hyde Park has. Everyone at JBP is up for a laugh and socialises, always going out, which is what you want for first year!!!
