I feel like kingston is the ideal town, there’s schools, college and university. There’s almost every shop and restaurant you could ever want. There’s night clubs and bars, pubs and shisha bars. The people are friendly! There’s always cabs around, a train station as well as many bus stops. Feel like I’ve never had a bad day or night in kingston!

There's lots of options for food in kingston. Everything is nearby and accessible. The shopping scene at Bentalls is amazing too. I love walking around town. The riverside is nice too.

Kingston is ideal! Not only do you have a mix of all sorts of shops and restaurants to suit everyone's needs, it is student friendly with regular student nights, good clubs, fast transport links with 24hr buses!

An amazing student town with lots of shops, restaurants and a vibrant night life. It takes only 30 minutes to get to central London.

Good clubs (Pryzm, Viper) which play different type of music in multiple rooms to fit everyone's taste. Has all the restaurants which you can think of to provide variety, you will not run out of ideas for your meals out. Bentals shopping centre as well as the high street has all the shop brads and live music on the street during day time to make your shopping experience better, also a Christmas market during the winter months to make it more festive. The river side offers a variety of bars and restaurants so you can have your brunch with a view on the Thames. Bowling, cinema and a theatre is also there as a form of entertainment however may be a little overpriced but has offers and discounts for students. Overall very enjoyable, well looked after, beautiful town.

Kingston upon thames is a beautiful town to live in. Not only have you got the thames as a view, there are a wide range of great restaurants, activities, and clubs to explore and experience. Every shop that you will need is at your doorstep, no need to travel into busy and tiring central london; but if you do desire this its only 20 minute train journey to London Waterloo. There is busking around every corner with talented artists that get discovered all the time, and german food markets at christmas with amazing sausages and stein beers to offer!

Beautiful location along the river thames with the sun usually setting just behind the bridge. Fantastically located - not too far from central London but far enough to feel like you’re in a different country entirely. Victorian-style buildings around the town, great markets and high street shops all over and the remarkable Bentall’s Centre is at your availability too. Lovely restaurants, bars and pubs and there are a few good clubs to cater for all music fans too. Great transport links throughout the day and the evening. A few night buses operate, which take you all the way to central London within an hour and a half.

I think Kingston University is amazing location wise, it’s 30 minute train journey to Waterloo so not too far from central but a much nice and more chilled environment to live and study in. As it’s on the Thames you can take lovely walks along the river and even go for boat rides to Richmond/Hampton Court. There’s tons of great restaurants and shops (a bentall centre), as well as a daily food market. There’s a few different clubs dotted about which is good, and a few pretty decent music venues too which means there’s usually something interesting going on. Living costs are a little expensive but not as bad as central London.

Kingston has been an amazing for a first year at Uni. The London transport makes it really easy to get around and it's only 30 mins to Waterloo which is great for nights out and gigs (especially with some of the buses being 24h). It's great being so close to Richmond park and Wimbledon common extension for walks and cycling as well as the riverside. The shopping is Kingston is fantastic and the pubs and clubs (4 main ones) are great! Coming from a seaside town it's been as really good play to get the best of city and country/town life.

The location of my university is the best. Its the kingston University located at Penrhyn Road which is located in a convenient distance from the town centre that has all the amaze food joints, shopping arena and famous clubs. The Penrhyn road area itself is a posh area having local shops and restaurants with good value for money that students can afford. Public transport is easily available and the stops are almost right outside the University. A quiet location with serene atmosphere

As an international student, living and studying in Kingston upon Thames is amazing. It's a good blend between city and country. It's busier than my home town but not to metropolitan that it's overwhelming. Studying abroad is not always easy, but Kingston has such a strong sense of community and I found my place and felt like a local after only a couple of weeks. Kingston has a lot to offer, leaving you no time to feel homesick.

Night life in Kingston is very good. There are three main clubs where everyone goes. People mostly go out Monday’s, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. In addition, many bands come to kingston for concerts (Blink 182, Sum 41, MGMT, Bloc Party,...). Kingston has a very good high street, with many restaurants, shops and shopping centres. In addition, the kingston market is great to find fresh food. Kingston has a cinema, bowling alley, the Thames, and Richmond Park very close by. Kingston is the perfect location to be able to go to central London whenever whilst living in a relaxing environment.

There was 3 big clubs in the area that often did nights in partnership with the university which was good and cheap. However, my actual universities bars were awful and only catered for people who were into rock music. The town on a whole was relatively cheap for a night out on weekdays however was pretty pricey on weekends.

Nice area, full of vibrant shops and lovely market place. Lots of other students to mingle with and have a coffee at pret (all four of them)! Free uni bus from your campus to other locations

Great place, perfect for nights out and great for parking, easy to get to with loads of trains and buses and easy car access. Great shops in local towns for lunch breaks and great student living around the area

Kingston is a great location for university, and being within the oystercard/travelcard range is helpful when travelling to central london! Kingston has a large shopping centre as well as numerous other shops outside it, and with such a variety it's never difficult to find what you need! Plenty of supermarkets around as well when shopping for food. There is also many good restaurants from european to oriental cuisine, and countless fast food options, as well as entertainment such as the cinema, bowling, and bars. The best clubs include Pryzm and The Viper Rooms, which offer student nights with discounts! There are also gym options with good value for money. Overall Kingston is a safe community with everything you need, I couldn't have asked for a better town to live in for university life!

Kingston is a great area. It has fantastic transport with a 35 minute commute into London and regular buses to get where you want to go. Kingston has lots of cafes, pubs and restaurants; it also has a market area in the main town. Kingston high street is complete with lots of shops from stationary to bath products to clothes and a Christmas market every year. The Christmas market stalls change every year but the market has sold wood carvings, cheeses and jewelry for the past few years. The hog roast stand is not to be missed. Kingston-upon-Thames follows the estuary and this is a fantastic walk with friends or a good place to run.

Amazing location! Close enough to central London but at the same time away from all the city madness!

Good nights out, lots of options for everything, food, shopping, going out. There is a mixture of old traditional things and new youth activities as well
