it's cold, very cold, also kind of in the middle of nowhere but at least campus is cool, and you have everything need a bus ride away so there's that, also,, squirrels

Beautiful, picturesque village and campus with acres of woodland to explore. The local town with nightlife and shops is only a 10-15 minute bus ride or a 30 minute walk and there are plenty of amenities on campus which mean you don't need to visit town too often

Keele is a lovely campus university with lots of greenery to prevent the industrial park feel generated by many university campuses. The woods are extensive and lovely to go for walls in to help calm exam stress, and sitting by the lake in true summer is an ideal place to revise with friends. However, there is very little to actually do by keele. In terms of a night out, the options are the SU, the SU or the SU, unless you fancy a 40 minute bus journey or a 15 minute taxi ride. And while the SU offers a relatively good party atmosphere, there's a distinct lack of variation- the same DJ playing the same songs might after night. No cute pub quizzes, stand up artists etc, and nowhere around the university to offer this. The nearest town offers a huge Morrison's, a great cinema and as much fast food as you could wish for, but relatively few shops. Overall, Keele is a gorgeous campus to enjoy whilst working, but there just isn't much to do in your free time.

Lots of good food places available, pubs near Newcastle city centre have very good discounts available to use. University has a friendly atmosphere.

Close to Stoke and Newcastle Under-Lyme which both offer a multitude of fantastic entertainments and places to eat

Keele, in itself, is a bubble on a hill. Unless you have access to a car, you will need to use a bus or taxi to get to the local town for food/shopping/nights out. Keele does have a Costcutter though but would highly recommend you don't shop there if you don't want to pay mortgage prices. Keele has a load of lovely walks around the woods on campus, especially near the Hall. Would recommend if you have a family dog / date destination if the weather is mild. The campus offers the SU for nightlife, and the people it's gotten over the years have been steadily hit and miss. Please refer to the Jason Derulo situation if you need any further affirmation. Keele isn't far from Newcastle Under Lyme, Hanley or Crewe - so, you aren't completely dumped in the middle of nowhere! It can, however, be as much of a "bubble" as you want it to be.

Location isn't ideal as there's not many options for night life other than the students union on campus which after first year can get a little boring. However the campus itself is very pretty with 2/3 being woodland - there is definitely a calming natural element to the campus' aesthetic. Keele is not far from Manchester or Birmingham, by train it is easily within an hour's journey. As for food shopping, Newcastle under Lyme has plenty of supermarkets, ranging from Lidl to Morrison's so there's a good range available and especially if you're on a budget the cheaper supermarkets come in useful. Drinks and events on campus are generally quite cheap, selected nights have food and drink offers (£1.20 a pint on some nights). As for eating out, there are plenty of restaurants in Newcastle (Revs, the Kiln etc) and more highstreet chain brands like nandos are located slightly further away in Hanley. You can also eat in the bars on campus (Lindsay Bar, KPA and the SU)
