Location: couldn't get any better, literally situated 2 minutes away from lectures Social experience: great for the most part, met my 2 best friends from living in Taylor Court and we got along great from day one. However we were in a flat with 5 others who we found it extremely hard to communicate with due to differences in culture and language. This would not have been a problem if cleanliness and food hygiene wasn't an issue Facilities: Poor. Washing machine between 8 girls is not sufficient especially when it breaks and takes 3 weeks to replace yet we paid for straight away repairs. No social area at all, leaving us to do so in the kitchen which was awkward when others were cooking baring in mind how small it was. 8 people could not cook in there at the same time. Internet was extremely poor as well, was very slow and had to do most work in the library.

The rooms are a little on the small side and there isn't really a communal area so most of the socialising needs to be done in the kitchen or in rooms. The facilities however are very good and the washing machine is free to use. The walls are fairly thin and on a Wednesday night it can get quite noisy if you decide to not go out as people cut through Taylor court to get to asylum. The walk to uni is super quick and it's only a short drive to the city centre.

Pretty good! Walls are a just a teeny bit too thin! However not too bad! Windows are great and room is ok size. Nice decent desk with plenty space and shelf as well. Shower is also good.

The facilities aren't particularly good, however the location is extremely convenient and made the room worth the money.

Dirty when I arrived and used as a short-cut to the union club so very noisy. So noisy! But it only takes two minutes to walk to class and 10 minutes to the nearest shops, bars and a nightclub so it’s convenient. Rooms are a manageable size but the kitchens have an awful layout and none of the appliances worked when I arrived, so it's lucky they're being ripped out and refurbished over summer! Overall not been worth the money, but it's much better than the Lawns.

The kitchens aren’t the best, hardly any space to all hang out and so you are forced into a really small room. Met great friends I will have for life

The social experience is great! Made such good friends that I’ll have for life. Being so close to uni is helpful especially when you are running a bit late.

Too expensive for what it’s like. Overall it’s good- decent sized rooms and en suit, maintenance guys are usually pretty quick to sort out any problems. But for the amount of money you pay you’d expect more. The wifi is awful, majority of my flat mates have resorted to ethernet for our laptops and thankfully I have a big data allowance for my phone. The kitchen is decent sized but should really provide more cupboard space and shelf space in the fridge/freezers. And the only social area is in the kitchen around the tables, which is a bit cramped when there’s more than 4/5 of you at once.

It is ok. Needs revamping and it is old. No common area which means you can't really socialise that much. Very loud at night especially Wednesday's because it's asylum night / student night so people walk through it. Only good because it is on campus so everything is within close range.

I live in an unrefurbished house in Taylor Court; Skidby House. The kitchen has an uneven amount of cupboards and drawers, and is not well equipped to deal with 8 students. The room could not be shared equally which is unfair as we all pay the same price for living there. Taylor Court is also really antisocial; the uni don’t put on any events which made making friends really difficult in the first few weeks (and I’m actually a really normal person lol I promise!) the only friends I made really were my flatmates and they’ve all had the same problem making friends in Taylor court, bar one other flat here because one my flatmates already knew one of them from secondary school. There are no social rooms here for all of the houses to hang out and make friends; there isn’t even one in the house/ or each flat. The only communal room we have is the kitchen which is usually pretty dirty because the cleaners aren’t that great and we’re students so what do you expect lol The rooms are small, little amount of storage, and almost everything has gone wrong at one point or another; plugs not working, heating, hot water, water at all, window handles falling off etc. It’s also really unsafe - someone reached their hand into my window and took all the stuff off my windowsill whilst I was at the library; there’s no real security here at all. Although it’s quite cheap- I would really recommend the courtyard/ the lawns for making friends. They’re the most sociable accommodations and I really regret not picking them. Would have moved if it wasn’t for my lovely flatmates. Only plus side it’s really close to uni so the walk isn’t far. Although the uni club (asylum) is shit, if you do go it’s nice to know that home isn’t too far away (about 2 min walk)

When I was living there 2 years ago the bedrooms weren't all the same quality. Some would have a really nice and modern bathrooms while others would have an old and poor quality one, the matress was super hard and old with springs. The kitchen was ok although it require d a few repears that weren't done properly. Also don't leave any valueble kitchen items in the kitchen because the uni won't refund you if it gets stolen. Doesn't offers much value for money as I've found better student houses fir cheaper.

Bedrooms are spacey as long as you don’t get the end ones, they are a little smaller. They are in the middle of renovating so some are pretty old fashioned but the renovated ones are nicer. I do prefer the older ones for the social aspect, as they have a table you can sit at, but the new ones are good if you have a tv as you can sit there on a night. As it’s on campus it is loud on a night, the windows don’t really shut any noise out so I would recommend earplugs. Salmon grove are okay. They try and help to the best of their ability, the WiFi is a bit on and off but when it works it’s good.

Location is really good but the social experience is definitely not good for me at all, probably due to my flatmates all being very loud partying types (I don’t drink or go out). But my room is very good.
