Glasgow is a great city, lots of pubs, restaurants, and most importantly: friendly people, Glasgwegians are always up for a good laugh and a few pints :)

Shops surrounding the uni are fantastic, a great range from pundshop to high end John Lewis etc. Although the uni is based on steep hills in some parts, the fact it is so central is really useful. Close to local food restaurants and take away, coffee shops everywhere and handy convenience stores. There are great pubs for drinks, hanging out with friends and a lively music scene.

The location of Strathclyde university is extremely close to the centre of Glasgow. It is located just next to merchant city which is full of lovely restaurants and cafes.

Very central and easily accessed from all main rail and bus stations. Large campus with many food outlets and plenty places near for lunch. Close to private halls and the college halls too.

One of the best universities in terms of location and social life, Glasgow University sits in the heart of the West End, and is surrounded by pubs, restaurants, unions, museums, coffee shops, literally the lot... Countless uni societies make fantastic use of these and there really is no need to travel far. Not only that but due the open style campus, it does not feel as though you are "in" uni, as the city is at your feet. Library after renovation is second to none, likewise with gym!

Fabulous location for going out for dinner and drinks and of course clubbing. Glasgow overall is a good night out.

The university is situated in the heart of Glasgow’s west end that has everything you need from shopping to nightlife. Plenty of supermarkets and independent greengrocer for your supplies as well as many friendly and quirky bars that are a little different from the centre, as well as easy bus and subway links to all around the city. The only flaw is that it’s a bit more pricey for a night out than in the centre.

Great city, lots of vintage and high street places to shop. Has a range of affordable and expensive shops including make-up places. Fantastic, good, cheap places to eat for students and more sophisticated places too.

Glasgow is an amazing, multicultural city. With lovely people always ready to help, the saying “People make Glasgow” is very apt. With wonderful parks and many many shops, Glasgow is a city you can spend a whole day in and still have things left to do.

Being right in the centre of the city the university of strathclyde is great for students as they will have almost everything they need in a walking distance. No need for expensive taxis home after a night out. Restaurants and shopping just five minutes all with a range of different offers to be had.

Great night life whether it is student bars and night clubs (cheap drink and pop music), live music from folk to rock, from brand new bands to stadium headliners or the best DJs that the UK has to offer, Glasgow has so much to offer. The West End is filled with interesting and exciting bars, for instance the Ashton Lane. Particular shout out to Jinty McGuintey's which offers good value for money and live music ever night in warm, friendly Irish pub environment.

There's plenty of stuff to do from museums to clubs to parks. There are also some big shopping streets containing pretty much all you could need. East end has the big shopping streets and Merchant city whilst West end is the trendier more beautiful side with vintage shops and nice cafes.

The city offers a variety of nightclubs so everyone should be able to find something for theor taste. A big plus is that one can find something to do any day of the week - not only on Fridays and Saturdays.

Glasgow is a great location for students. The whole city has great transport links with two large train stations and the underground service which makes transport across the city very easy. Shopping is really easy, with good variety of shops.

Glasgow, compared to many other cities of similar size, is remarkably cheap to live in. With a wide range of affordable supermarkets (aldi, Lidl, etc) within the city centre, food shopping is easy and affordable. Rent can also be very good value for money with rooms in flats very close to the city centre at sometimes less than £300 a month. The further east/ South you go, the cheaper it will become. However, Glasgow is split into two city centres. The main centre-left with George square, and the West end. The West end is a considerably nicer place to live, especially as a student as it's very young and popular, with heaps to do. However, simply living west of Charing cross means any accommodation price sky rockets, and the quality of flat seems to decrease- (high ceilings with little insulation makes heating a nightmare. Also watch out for uneven floorboards that can cause huge issues with furniture positioning- think wardrobe falling and squashing you flat) . So think carefully about what matters to you before you choose where to live. Remember that Glasgow is extremely wet and can get very cold so bare this in mind too- currently writing this during the 'beast from the east storm' when all university facilities have been closed for 3 days now due to bad weather.

There is always good nights out for students and the alcohol is pretty cheap. There is loads of shops (pretty much any high street shop you could want) and nice food places you can eat for quite cheap. Also there is trains/ the subway and buses for travelling so it is pretty easy to get to places.

Glasgow is a great city filled with great people. The weather can leave something to be desired however the various small and independent pubs and bakeries along with restaurants makes up for this. The student life in the city is great with various educational establishments based in the city. There are various nigh clubs and bars which provide a great night out at cheap prices but if you want to go up makert there is opportunity for this. There are various parks with the west end offering Kelvingrove Park with amazing views of Glasgow University itself. Along with this walks along the kelvin provide a great day out. There are some places which could do with a lick of paint. For instance some areas have a bit too much litter about.

West end is a very beautiful place, university grounds and kelvingrove art gallery are must visits! City centre has decent shops with plenty of places to eat - specifically Sauchiehall street and great nightlife.

Great town, nights out and people! Me being an international student I love this place! I think that Glasgow is amazing not only throughout the day but throughout the night as well. Taxis are cheap and good as well as the public transport, absolutely amazing.

Glasgow is great. University is located in the perfect area of glasgow for shopping, eating and drinking. Also, sport and fitness activities are close by. Subway is located ideally for the university and city centre.

The City is definitely one of the best when it comes to nightlife and entertainment. There are loads of clubs, restaurants, cinemas, and cafes. There are 100s of events happening across the city every week so you are never short of options, no matter what your interest is. Plus there are multiple different transport systems that you can take so that you can appreciate the whole wonderful city.
