Exeter is the perfect university town. Going out is very easy going, no need to dress to impress, but very fun. Good variety of food available, and decent quality for price but lacks more local restaurant options (most are chains)

Its a pretty nice town which has a variety of cuicines (compared to how small it is) and lots of cute bars. There are only around eight clubs (Phoenix, Unit 1, Timepiece, Lemmys, Rosies, Fever, etc) but the best ones are Unit 1 (on fridays) and Timepiece (on tuedays)

Exeter is a very small city so it's easy to quickly learn your way around but there's not much to do and it has very average nights out. It partially makes up for this by being pretty though and feels very safe to walk around in.

Exeter is a vibrant city and major tourist spot as well. One can find enough activities to take up to enjoy the beautiful countryside. Be it rafting at the quay, enjoying a bike ride along the river or a quick snack overlooking the river side, there is something to appeal to all age groups. The city centre has a range of shopping outlets with some major brands as well although it could be better. There are several food outlets serving breakfast until dinner and dedicated dessert parlours to satisfy the sweet tooth. The transport here isn't great. Cabs are limited to one service alone and are expensive and the public buses are never on time. In terms of value for money, Exeter is slightly expensive in terms of general expenses. Other than that the city is pretty safe but then again one's safety is their own responsibility. The major population is made up of students from the University and Exeter college and the others include a small percentage of middle aged working group and a significant number of retired folks. As such the country side is beautiful and scenic.

Small! You can see it in a few days. Theres not a lot to encourage students to go further out of the town centre, and the Quay, though pretty, isn't very good for students without a lot of money. Cannot envision myself living or working there after graduating as there doesn't seem to be a lot of opportunity here. I am certainly a city girl - I imagine it would suit other people much better.

Where my location is based on campus, it’s perfect with lectures being a maximum of a five minute walk away. The walk to town is about 15 minutes which is fairly hefty but unavoidable. The shops offer everything you need.

Exeter is a small town, and having moved there from a big city, it took some getting used to. At first I felt like there was nothing much to do outside of the high street, but this is where the friends you meet matters. The university life is not bound to the city, and joining societies like the Surf Club takes you to the beach every weekend, taking advantage of the location. The nights out are pretty consistent, my favourite place was the Cavern, which still remains one of my favourite venues. It's charming and has a great history. I also loved going cycling in the area or renting a kayak for the day and setting off from the quay. Exeter is beautiful and charming, but it takes effort to recognise this and embrace it.
