Loads of great things to do in and around the city. Great nightlife where you can meet lots of fun people.

The scenery is gorgeous and the people you meet are some of the nicest. The clubs aren’t consistently great. Some are horrible and some are just too expensive for most students. The pubs are mostly fantastic though, always really cool decor and entertainment.

Beautiful city, great Uni, can be a bit annoying if you have lectures in Central and at Kings back to back.

Busy town, costs are higher for nights out and eating out due to the fact it’s a major city. The city is full of cultural and lots of things to do and go see. The fringe is a great event every year especially if you love alcohol, music and comedy. If you are coming from a small rural village it is quite difficult to adjust to the city with all the people and traffic but definitely worth it.

Great city, Lots of culture and things to do. It has a great night life with lots of public transport to and from towns even in the early hours of the morning. The fringe is always a great event especially if you enjoy drinking, music and comedy.

Very expensive but walkable. Oftentimes frustrated by the large swathes of tourists at specific points of the year, but as cities go there is always a cultural activity or something like that to do. Definitely not a city you can live in on a shoestring. Manageable.

Great nights out and restaurants but sometimes over priced. Lots of different shops in Edinburgh near campus also.

Edinburgh is a fantastic city. The University of Edinburgh's central campus is large and very centralised. Prince's Street and various food shops are just minutes away. Not forgetting the huge variety of bars and clubs to suit anyone's taste.

Places in the city can be expensive, you can find cheaper places outside from the centre. You'll never run out of things to do.

I chose a uni in a city since i'm from a small town as a nice change, Edinburgh was a great choice since there is a bustling city life, it is still very picturesque and a comfortable, safe place to live.

Right by fort kinnard with plenty shops, food etc. Otherwise Musselburgh isn’t very exciting, only option is to go into Edinburgh for a night out and taxi’s back aren’t always keep. But trains and buses in normal hours are fine

There's pretty good shopping choices, only really on Princes St and northwards; there's cinemas and museums a plenty. The Student Union is rubbish, being expensive and only having one building and one night out. Terrible city for value for money. Plenty of choice for places to eat, and lots of bars.

A very tourist oriented city due to is historical and geographical location giving it a warm but not student like feeling, the locals are very nice partially due to the sight of often seeing tourists and visitors.
