Edinburgh is a busy, vibrant city with lots to offer. Comedy clubs, independent theatres, history, green spaces and easy walks up Arthur’s seat, Calton hill or Blackford hill to feel like you’re in the countryside. Restaurants and bars are plentiful, and if you stay over summer the fringe festival is really when Edinburgh comes alive.

Edinburgh is a great city for students. The city is quite small and central and everything is easily accessible by bus or by walking. The landscapes and scenery are amazing and their is so much history. Their is so much to see and do aswell

Great place to live, loads of students and young people around the university area and plenty of gear access to other cities in Scotland and in England. Rent is getting slightly expensive but still livable for the most part, many began and vegetarian restaurants opening up recently making going out easy. Many bars and nightclubs within walking distance of residential areas

Edinburgh overall is a great city to live in. The nightlife has something for everyone with everything from r and b to techno to jazz music all within a short walk of each other. There are numerous great student nights during the week with cheap drinks however the prices do go up at the weekends. Why not and bourbon are some the most popular night clubs to attend but lines outside are very long. The food is great especially take aways which offer almost every kind of food thinkable. Shopping is also excellent but very busy and does require a lot of walking. There are lots of zoos etc and the dungeons and castle.

The sightseeing is excellent, there’s loads of touristy things to do as well as the lesser known things. Bars and nightclubs are plentiful- if you want a more classy night George street is the way to go but if you’re just up for a cheap good time then head over to cowgate. Princes street is good for shops and restaurants on rose street behind it are also good.

Beautiful city, lots to do, lots of places to visit for free and a cost. Many nice restaurants and bars. Great for students as there’s lots of places which offer student discounts

Love the city, but need to discover more venues and events. Still need to keep a student budget however.

With Edinburgh being such an aesthetically pleasing city in the first place the local community play off that very well. All wonderful shops available to the public fit into the setting of the historic city perfectly and portray Scotland beautifully to those that visit.

A quirky, oldly-wordly city with character down every street! So much option regarding food, performances and night life. In amongst all the history and mystery of this place, and as a student you are still able to feel and home but be awed every day.

Edinburgh is a fantastic city, characterised by beautiful architecture, a world renowned food scene and cafe culture and vibrant nightlife and cultural scene. There is plenty to do and pricing is much cheaper than London though the quality of equal standard. Walking around is easy though do prepare for very cold weather.

The city of Edinburgh is a beautiful place to go with many lovely sights and attractions to see. Princess street has every shop you could possibly want, where you could shop all day long. Beautiful walk through princess gardens and of course the infamous Edinburgh castle where you can learn about the history of the city

Overall, Edinburgh is a great city to live in as a student. Everything you need is easily accessible and you get the feeling for city life without the frantic atmosphere found in other large uk cities. Parks, sports facilities and shopping are rife throughout the city and there's always plenty to do. The nightlife is a slight weak point; it can take a while to find the different nights for you and even then, the likelihood is that it will set you back a fair amount of money. The cost of living is the major setback in Edinburgh and you have to travel further out to access any larger supermarkets.

Wide range of restaurants The city centre looks amazing Frequent buses to and from city centre There are many tourist attractions such as castles and cathedrals. During Christmas and New year particularly the old town and princes street are beautifully decorated and there is a large Christmas market where you can find all sorts of food from hot dogs to waffles and hot chocolate.

Edinburgh is a thriving student friendly city that is buzzing with fantastic energy all year round! It has excellent transport links, endless shopping opportunities and an amazing range of restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes. The night life is constant and there is always something for everyone! As a capital city, you can expect places to be a little on the pricier side, especially when it comes to eating out and entertainment, but when you look it the right places, you can always find a good bargain, and almost everywhere offers student discount!

Decent variety of shops, but larger shops such as Primark, can sometimes be extremely busy, with big queues. Nightlife is good at weekends, and not bad during the week. Food wise, the Omni Centre has plenty of options including Nandos, F&B's, Tony Macaroni, Lloyds etc. Grassmarket and other areas - there is all your traditional pub grub available. Not far out of town is Fountain Park with a bowling alley, trampoline park and a Casino. Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Dungeons and a Sightseeing bus are some things to do in the Centre. Transport Links pretty good, although I would recommend double checking where your bus stop is, prior to travelling, as can be a bit complicated trying to work out where to board the buses, and expect frequent delays/cancellations with the trains.

To go shopping in Edinburgh is quite good. You will have every shop you want, and everyerthing is really close to each other. The most popular shops are primark, H&M and Topshop. You will also have a beautiful view of the castle, when you are going shopping.

The city has some amazing attractions for everyone, whether it's a night out in the town or at pubs or a family fun day out from visiting the zoo to trying escape rooms and everything inbetween. What also makes it easier to get around are the fantastic bus and train services with regular services also including sight-seeing buses.

Edinburgh is a really beautiful city full of history. Whether it's visiting museums or checking out the nightlife, there is something for everyone and it's hard to get bored. Although accommodation costs can be high, there are plenty of free things to enjoy. My personal favourites include climbing Arthur's Seat, walking in the Pentland Hills and going round the second-hand bookshops to hunt down a great deal. The locals are friendly and there are always plenty of tourists which makes the city feel very welcoming and safe. Lothian buses are affordable and can take you pretty much anywhere in Edinburgh and the drivers are the friendliest I've come across. All in all, it's a fantastic city to live, study and work in.

Edinburgh provides students with several opputunites for food on the cheap and more expensive end all providing great quality food. The transport links are fab with constant buses between many locations

This city is perfect for students, not too big, not too small, numerous places to enjoy nightlife and also just to go out for dinner for example. Most of the museums are for free, many things to see. Beautiful seaside within half an hour. Many shops in the city centre. Grocery shoppimg is easy as well: tesco, sainsbury's, lidl, aldi etc. almost everywhere. Public transport has lots of buses, but its easy to cycle as well, especially along the beautiful canal. Airport is really close to the city, easy to reach.

Overall Edinburgh is a great student town. There's a huge amount of students and as a result loads of places to go out, eat and drink. Transport connections are great with Lothian Buses. Can be expensive.

The city itself is beautiful - stunning architecture and scenery. Nights out are good, with plenty of student nights as to not break the bank. There’s also a lot to experience and do in the city and surrounding areas too. However, rent is a wee bit on the expensive side.

Edinburgh is maybe not a big city but have a lot to offer. This city is alive on the day and also in the night. There are sime bars, pubs and clubs almost everywhere and the same thing is with food and restaurants. The transport is long, it takes a while to drive to the centre unfortunately
