Really modern, well maintained rooms, friendly staff, welcoming environment. Slight walk away from uni but not too far, and nice if you don’t know Edinburgh quite as well as it’s so close to royal mile it’s easy to have a wander and get your bearings. Quite social but not intimidating, and generally quiet and peaceful. Quiet times are from 10pm, which is great if you’re wanting an early night however can be slightly annoying when hosting a party but staff are generous enough with warnings

Brae house is a modern and comfortable choice of student accommodation. The more modern design of bedroom and kitchen, staff presence at reception 24/7 and variety of organised trips and activities were great. However, the common areas were small and little used and the 30 minute, uphill walk to campus let it down. There was also a variety of age ranges of people living at brae due to the studio flats, making it a less ideal option for freshers and those wishing to socialise. Overall, it functioned well for first year.

New and clean accomodation. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nice rooms with en-suits. Close to Meadowbank shopping centre and walking distance from the Uni and Princes Street.

Overall, my experience at brae house has not been exactly great. There was minimal support from staff for when my flatmates and I really needed it, therefore damages the reflection on my stay here.

The rooms in themselves are good; a lot of storage and a fresh bathroom, big bed and great desk. However, it does seem to depend quite a bit on where you end up living in the actual house as some rooms have big windows facing Arthur's Seat, and others are on the ground floor either facing pedestrians directly or looking straight into a wall. Reception is great with friendly and helpful staff, laundry facilities are however quite a mess as they are insufficient and often malfunctioning.

Brae House is a good accommodation. It is clean, modern and the staff are so sweet. There's a common room with a pool and table tennis table and a TV, alongside games, movies and books. There are lots of activities on all the time, but it is very far from the uni - an uphill walk which can take 26-30 minutes every day!

Lovely accommodation, nice rooms although mine was wuite a bit smaller compared to other standard rooms in the building. The location is good, close to Princes Street, Waverly and Arthur’s Seat. The walk to uni was shorter than expected. All rooms had a lovrly en-suite and plenty storage space. The kitchens were fully fitted with large fridge/freezers, a microwave and a 4-ring hob. A large TV was also included. The staff and resident assistants were always friendly and welcoming. They organised many events and activities. Commok areas were cleaned regularly and the maintenance team were quick to fix issues. The courtyard was often quite noisy, especially at night, although that is not an issue with the accommodation but more with the individual residents. Overall, great halls and i will definitely miss living there!!

Brae House is a wonderful accommodation. It is clean, modern and spacious (for a student accommodation). There's a large common room with a pool table and a TV, stocked with games, movies and books. The staff are super friendly and willing to help with any problem at all and any repair jobs are done promptly and with a smile. The Resident Assistants are always coming up with new activities and Brae house always has something to offer, whether it be free food, a paintballing game or an Easter egg hunt. The only possible issue with Brae House is the walk to George Square (28 minutes approx) - all uphill. A bit tedious for the 9ams, but good exercise.

I enjoyed living in Brae House; it was well managed, nicely laid out and well equipped. However I found it to be too far from campus - when finishing late at night I often had to walk down Cowgate as the clubs were closing which could be quite intimidating. I also felt like it was difficult to keep the kitchen clean as other flatmates were difficult to work with, therefore I wouldn’t have minded paying more to get the kitchen cleaned every week.

Location is not bad, I think its good for socialising and good location for shops, however is a bit of a trek to uni but its nice to walk up the royal mile every day. The flats are very good, the kitchens are spacious and the rooms are decent sized. Its god to have your own toilet. The building is fairy safe too.

The accommodation is moderatwly close to George Square (20 minute walk), but very far from Kings Buildings. The accommodation itself is top notch, everything is taken care of by the staff, everything is very nice, fast internet, somewhat useful events, etc.. there a reason a few minor problems like lack of switches for controlling the light, and inability to open bedroom windows properly, but overall it's pretty amazing.

It’s good. Really modern and good facilities and the RAs do try to organise events and stuff although they are definitely not well attended. The only bad thing about it is it’s quite far away from uni and so it’s been tough walking everywhere if we want to avoid paying for the bus. It’s annoying how cleaners don’t clean our bathrooms either and only clean the outer surfaces of the kitchen (só not the oven or microwave or hob surface etc) and they come so rarely too. Overall good though because the quality of the rooms definitely makes up for it

Location is nice however a bit far from the uni. Room is nice and has really good storage however has very little floor space. Cleaners are terrible and the sensor lights are annoying that they can’t be turned off completely in the kitchen

Brae House is a brilliant accommodation in a great location however quite far out. With a 40 minute walk I often choose to get the bus as the uni doesn't offer a free one and Lothian buses aren't often enough so I mostly have to leave way in advance to make sure I get on one. The kitchens are fairly large and maintenance are great at keeping on top of things. Good friendly staff too and I generally like the design of my room. I think the common areas are nice too, with quite a cosy vibe going on and I can imagine this being a good place to stay during the fringe. I did initially move from Shrub Hill less than halfway through first year and stayed at Brae for second due to safety/security issues but do feel much more secure here. We have 24/7 security and more secure key entry points (you pass four key fob areas to get to your room) which wasn't available at shrub Hill while I was there.

I chose to live in Brae House in November of first year after a bad experience with lack of security at Shrubhill. I then stayed in Brae for the whole of second year also; staff are very friendly and helpful while the location is both a plus and minus. It's quite far out, about a 40 minute walk from the college of art which means I have to get the bus on early starts. Bus services are very poor and I think the uni should offer a free shuttle. However location feels less of a city due to having Arthur's seat around the corner, holyrood and the Royal Mile. Its also not a long walk to Waverley. It is up the expensive side though at around £137 a week. Yet the rooms are very nice and kitchens large.

The halls are very nice and newly built. The rooms are a good size with a small double and ensuite and quite soundproof walls. The staff and RAs are all very friendly and helpful and there is always an event happening. However, one problem is the noise of the traffic. On one side there's a busy main road and on the other is a train track, but this is to be expected living in the city.

A bit out of the way of the uni. Facilities really nice, walls a bit grungy and need repainted. Cleaners are terrible and laundry should be free considering the price of the accommodation
