The location is perfect for the university science site approximately a 5 minute walk. There is an average gym, small but has most of the equipment you need for a decent work out.

The rooms at my building at grey college were very spacious and the furniture was sturdy. There was also lots of storage. However, the fully catered price of £7000 seems ridiculous in comparison to other, more modern, university accommodation. The food was really nice though and very filling. The social life was good in freshers week but then got worse as the year went on, and the formals were usually very expensive and sometimes boring. The corridors usually kept to themselves so their wasn’t a huge social side to the halls but most corridors were pretty close within themselves. The accommodation definitely needs modernising in order to be worth the hefty price tag. Also, the hill is very tiring!!

Closest college to the university site, easy to get to town. Catering is pretty good, though options to make your own food is fairly limited. Rooms are pretty modern, through few social spaces for your corridor - only the main JCR and bar for the whole college.

Quite a large room compared to some of the others around Durham. Very cold as heating is only turned on in mornings and evenings and it’s an old building. Good facilities, close to the main University campus.

The college system is brilliant, as there’s a real sense of community. The room I’m in is smaller than the average, but it has everything you need, and is very close to everything in college. The college is catered, and the food there is really good. The bar is also brilliant. However, it is very expensive, and the university really need to freeze those prices.

Room was lovely and clean, staff were super friendly. Was lucky enough to get an ensuite room which was ideal and still a good size. Plenty of college societies and events throughout the years. Bar is great and pretty cheap, toastie bar is amazing and has some bargin deals.

Great location for science site. Had an en-suite room, was a decent size and housekeeping who came weekly were excellent! Great social experience.
