Location is perfect for everything, town, all campus sites, local shops and the clubs. Rooms are a nice size (not ensuite) and have enough space. Whenever we've hada problem with other flsts being too loud it has been sorted right away, as well as problems within our facilities in our flat, they've also been sorted right away. The only thing that i think every flat should have is a social space within their flat as a kitchen or someone else's room isn't the best thing when we want to be cosy and comfortable and have conversations or play board games. Our common room is on the other side of the car park which we wouldnt want to go to of it was raining or cold as we have to go outside to get to it.

Lived in Sir peter Hilton for my first year of university, definitely needs a refurbish! The flats need to be made more modern! I had an en suite plus room which was good as the rooms were a good size. Make sure you do not live on the top floor as it was awful going up and down the stairs as they have no lifts - especially when moving your stuff in and out. The noise in the flats wasn't too bad, however my room was next to the main road which became quite loud! I personally didn't make much use of the social areas and they never seemed to have people in, you are able to book them out for drinks with your friends or if you wanted to watch something which was good! I never had any trouble with the WIFI, when people come to visit you it was always easy for them to use it to. The location of the halls was probably the best thing, especially when going on a night out. This would save us so much money as we wasn't having to get taxis anywhere! The halls is around a 10/15 minute walk from the centre of town - probably closer to all the night clubs!

I had an En suite plus flat which included our own lounge, the flats were very outdated. We spent a lot of time in the lounge but it was very small so got very cramped! Because peter Hilton was a large halls we barely saw anybody around which made it hard to meet people in our halls. The halls doesn't have any lifts and I was on the third floor which was a nightmare when climbing up and down the stairs. Staff were always nice, pleasant and welcoming and would be helpful In any issues you had. The common room was good especially if you wanted to organise a gathering, included a pool table and TV. Never had any problems with the WIFI was always fast and worked. The location is brilliant if you want to take a walk into town to all the shops, this is good especially on nights out there is no need for a taxi. My room was a good size!

It's in a good location, in between town and the university. It is also really handy for students who study any kind of law or criminal degree as the campus for that is a 30 second walk across the road. It is a very party ish halls, so can be quite loud at nights when everyone is coming back after a night out. It was quite good as the common room was fairly big with a pool table and telly etc. The rooms varied, but personal experience the room was big and suited me fine.

The rooms were nice and spacious even in the cheaper flats. Limited social areas but the nightlife is practically on your doorstep. Great placement if you are doing law, the lectures are just across the street! Wifi was down for maintwnance everyniw and then but an all over great signal strength year round. An all together lovely halls experience.

I spent 2 years at peter hilton. I was lucky enough to get a room with a decent bathroom rather than tiny ensuites that look like airplane (and smell like) toilets. The room itself was incredibly dated including the decor, especially the very bold curtains, and the facilities were also quite dated. The first year i stayed, there were no problems with my room other than a dodgy showerhead that got fixed pretty much straight away. The kitchen was quite large and had a small seating area. Shared with 4 other people, definefly fine for £115 a week. Though now the price has risen to £130 a week which is far to much for a shared flat. The second year wasn't as great. I stayed in the same block so had a large bathroom still but moved 2 floors down with some friends. My room had a really old radiator in that for 2 months was constanly clicking and drove me crazy. No matter how much i told them of my lack of sleep or inability to stay in my room it took ages to fix which was really dissapointing. Overall they are an ok halls, but not the best and now unfortunatly over priced.

As the biggest halls currently at the uni of derby theres always someone to talk to and you can always make new friends. Flats are pretty decent but room was a bit small; ensuite plus. The staff are really friendly and will come help whenever you need them. Really close to the central areas so not more than a 10 min walk to most clubs/town. Only downside no lift so hard to go good shopping if you're on the top floor.

Location is central to town, clean and professional staff. One downside is the decor and interior - such as curtains and carpet are stained and old fashioned.

Overall, staff have been helpful and friendly towards me. My only critique would be a delay in kitchen repairs to the tap.

Room was lovely, quite big for a university room, lots of space to move around. The location was nice as it was close to town but that also had its downfalls as during the night you would often here students come back from nights out. Cleaners were great!

Hall manager is lovely and really helpful, although actual hall facilities aren’t great for the price. Noice nuisance is fairly bad and doesn’t seem to be dealt with at all. Location for nightlife is fantastic, room mates are amazing - good friends.

Excellent halls in a perfect location, really close to all the clubs and the city center. Also has the Student Union bar (67 Bridge Street) a minuet away, serving £2 pints. 20 minuets walk to Keddelston Road campus or a free uni bus stops around the corner. Great halls manager and caretaker. The RA’s seem very inexperience this year.

Is the biggest halls of residents, is great in terms of location really close to the city centre and about a twenty minute walk to uni. Is a great halls if you are after a busy and very social experience. The rooms are a decent size for the money you are paying, however is a little noisy but that is obvious with halls.
