Duncreggan Village

As I was moving away from home as many other students, halls seemed like the obvious choice for a first year. You meet everyone and anyone from all sorts of areas and I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. I met the greatest people and made lifelong friendships and amazing memories. The parties were insane, I went from a scared little newbie to being welcomed and literally dragged to a party on my first night by my amazing flat mates! We had block parties, jousting tournaments down our corridors and fun games of who can outrun the security guards. Don't get me wrong we did calm down eventually and have casual movie nights and gossip sessions in each others rooms but freshers.... that was just two weeks of non stop partying and the best time of my life. On site you had everything you needed, a shop for supplies and late night munchies, laundry rooms, sports halls and football pitches where everyone would chill and hang out on sunny days. It was just a big family, we looked after eachother and had fun. If you ever needed help with anything student support were always there and they weren't up tight university representatives but students as well who you could have a laugh with which made the whole experience so much better. I have so many found memories of the student village and random ones.. such as walking home drunk and bumping into another drunk friend with a giant watermelon who had got locked out, so we sat on the pitches eating watermelon exchanging stories like drunk messes until help arrived. I couldnt imagine spending first year anywhere else than duncreggan and would 100% recommend it to any student first or not.

The student village is a perfect experience for your first year of uni. It is close to shops and nightlife and the university and is a great place to meet new social groups. The only bad thing is that you have to sign guests in.

Really great and simple, the luxury rooms have a double bed and en suite shower with a shared living space, easy disposal of bins, and everything is very handy and close by to the uni.
