Keynes Flats

I stayed in Kemsdale Court and really liked my room. What drew me to it the most was the ensuite feature. The ensuite are was quite small but it is fine for one person. The only issue with this room was the price, it was quite expensive and I'm aware as each year goes by it increases in price. Nonetheless, if an ensuite is important to you then this would be a good room. It's about 5-10 minutes away from central campus but it is not too far.

Location was centre of campus therefore very convenient. Facilities were good, everything needed was available. Social experience was very good as people from other flats interacted with each other well

Not value for money - paying the top price for standard accomodation. The accomodation costs the same as the brand new modern flats which have more kitchen area for less people and double beds. However, it is in a good location.

Honestly, what made my experience of halls great was my flatmates and without being paired with them my rating would have been lower, so congrats to the uni for such a perfect pairing after our application for what kind of flatmates we would want. I did get my first choice of halls which was great, though for the price I did think it would be a bigger room. location was perfect even though it was on the opposite end of the campus to my lecture hall, wasn’t too bad as it was close to essentials, perfect for midnight snacks. My room was also fine, bed was a little hard, but plenty cupboards to put stuff, it was ensuite, but it was tiny and everywhere gets wet because it was literally a floor with a shower and the toilet and sink next to it. Kitchen was great, perfect size and lots of cupboards for everyone, perfect place to chill with the housemates.

The rooms themselves were great: comfortable, stylish, with loads of storage. The ensuite wet rooms were great the only snag being a slight lack of ventilation, but by no means no as that a massive problem. The “kitchen” however left a LOT to be desired. There was a single microwave and small fridge between 14 of us, a plus no communal place to sit which was a shame. The lack in of appliances would have been okay had the catering been of decent standard but to be honest it was really bad.

Great rooms, there were minor despite issues with the Kitchen and with the rooms. i.e. electrics and plumbing

The ensuite toilet was convenient but the room size was pretty small. Also, the fridge was too small and there was not enough space for everyone.

Pretty awesome. You can get anywhere on campus in 15 mins max so great location. The building is quite modern and the ensuite is my life saver! The kitchen has great space for pres which is great for the social part of student life. The desks in the hall are huge and can fit so much which is great! I have a lot of storage space under the bed and on top of the wardrobe.

The location was fantastic, really close to central campus, and still close to some substantial greenery. The rooms were comfortable and well sized, and having the en suite cleaned once a week was fab. My only complaint would be the size and facilities of the kitchen. As the rooms were catered the kitchens contained a microwave, sink and small fridge between fourteen people. This was not always practical as the dining hall was only open at quite impractical times (dinner was 5-7, breakfast was 6-9, and no lunch) so if you were unable to get there at these times there was no way to cook for yourself. Also the food was rubbish and more often than not the portions were tiny. There was also no communal space for residents to sit together and so we often just sat in the hall on floor.

The location is very close to the centre of campus and all lecture theatre are a maximum of 15-20 minute walk away! It’s very good socially as there is the kbar close by! The kitchen is a good size although the work surfaces can get crowded! The room is also s good size however there is a constant annoying buzz from a nearby generator

I loved the choice of halls, mine in particular was in a great position near the library, the venue and essentials. The room was pretty small but new and well kept

Lovely location, really good rooms, but a little pricey and the response time to faults/damage can be a little slow

Room was really nice and spacious, lots of storage which was good, although kitchen was tiny and we had no real social area, this was only downside

Excellent room close to the campus although a bit pricey for what is actually is. Accommodation is close to campus. The halls is shared between 8 people which the kitchen accommodates for.
