Overall there are 8 university's around the central radius of Cardiff, nightlife is major key as clubs and student bars are all about 20-30minutes away from all the halls and are easy to travel to by foot, train, bus or taxi hire. Cardiff has two large shopping centres which can be found in central with various shops what include high and low clothing brands to suit all customers! Cardiff is a great location to study for students on both a low and high pay rate!

Location wise really good. Best of both worlds in terms of city life and country life. There's the city centre which is right next to a big castle. You don't see that everyday. Lots of little cute shops and arcades.

Cardiff uni is located very close to the city centre which is very convenient. The library is a decent size and there are a lot of societies available for freshers to join. Overall a fab area with loads of shops, bars and cafés.

Cardiff despite being a brilliant night out with loads to do is perfectly located to access Wales and the South West of England. Offering easy access to dozens of top towns, countryside views and historical locations.

Cardiff has so much to offer, for all different types of people. The city centre has loads of great clubs, bars, restaurants and shops. The student areas have everything you need and everyone is really friendly!

The location is bang in the city centre so it's great for most things. The lidl nearby makes grocery shopping easy for students too. However, there are MUCH cheaper places to actually shop elsewhere is Cardiff but are too far away for students to travel.

Student life in cardiff is so good. Food, nightlife, parks, lakes, the castle, it’s all just amazing.

Cardiff has a lot of great sights and definitely is a beautiful city. When I first arrived in Cardiff for my interview I instantly fell in love with the city.

Having to live in Wales and 40 minutes away from my university, I am not biased AT ALL. Cardiff is such a lively city, filled with activities to do so you don't get bored. Universities here are within bus and walking distance, the people are lovely. The best thing about the location is how diverse it is, also you'll find yourself fitting into any cultural backgrounds just being you! Everyone is so accepting and if you get to know Cardiff well enough, I'm sure you will feel as safe as I do. Like I said, there are many places to be and things to do from Cardiff International Pool for swimming or health suite to St.David's Shopping Centre with a lot of high street shops, as well as budgeted and affordable places to coincide with your student budgets. My favourite is the Roath Park, all parks in Cardiff like Bute Park are beautiful due to the Castle but nothing beats a lake, ice-cream, ducks, paddle boats and a lovely long walk to cure your hangovers in Roath, I'd totally recommend it! Visit Cardiff for a few days or so, staying in cheap hotels in the centre to find out more for yourself - it's 100% worth it!

I like that Cardiff has the culture and opportunities of things to do that a capital city can offer but is also not too big and busy at the same time. As a student, it's really good that you can walk pretty much anywhere o easily catch a cheap train to the Bay or Barry Island, for example. The nightlife is also pretty good, with a diverse range of clubs and club events on offer.

Many different night clubs with good music and decent drink prices. Great shopping centre with lots of good shops and also many places to eat, including places with lots of options for those with dietary restrictions such as vegetarians, though it can be slightly expensive sometimes generally value for money is good.

Night-life is great, plenty of clubs and bars to choose from. Huge range of different shops to shop in and the value for money/life is great!!

Location of student housing is all within 1 mile of the university and the main shopping centre. You can walk or cycle everywhere. The town has everything you need for food experience and shopping and there is a great nightlife. There are lots of different clubs that do different offers on different nights. The cost of living is extremely cheap with rent costs being low and social activities also being cheap. For example the cinema is £3 for students.

Cardiff is pretty clean city, it can get wild thought. It you are coming from other parts of Europe, you could find it a bit pricey. All in all not a bad place to be.

Nights out or walking alone at night feel completely safe. I’m from a small market town and feel the same level of safety when alone which is surprising from such a large city. I like how easy it is to learn your way around and after my first trip here I already felt like I belonged here. So many shops that my bank account hates me but I love it

There's a load of clubs, pubs and places to eat out which is great for uni students, and a load of shops and cinemas. But other than that, there's not really too much to do. Everything is very cheap though

Someone described Cardiff as a small London once, while its not completely true, it’s not completely untrue either. Cardiff has all that you could want out of a city, a good night live that caters to every genre of music. It has a variety of shops and you’ll never leave feeling as though there was something that was missing. It has a value for money that you’d struggle to find outside of northern English cities and it’s friendly and welcoming atmosphere does wonders to demonstrate how great of a city Cardiff is

The student afea is a perfect location with everything you could need within walking distance. Theres lots of shops and take aways to choose from within a 2/3minute walk of most houses within the student areas. Lots of diverse music events being run by different promotions, meaning you don't have to do the standard boring clubs!

Plenty of things to do, more shops than you'll ever need, fantastic nightlife, just a little messy in places
