I love Cardiff so much! It's a lovely city filled with friendly and lovely people. I am living in the town, nearby the train station and bus stations so transportation is always so easy to reach. I love the parks here, and most of them are just walking distance from town. As an Asian, I am quite picky with foods, and Cardiff provides a lot of food choices. Most of the Chinese food are legit. The Thai food in Cardiff market is affordable and yummy. Even though there's only one Korean restaurant (Kimchi) in town but the food is great! There're a couple of Malaysian food restaurants which are great as well! Entertainment wise, the movie tickets are really cheap here in the Cardiff, especially if you are a student. I am not a night person so I've never been to any club here, but I heard there's a couple of good clubs in the town.

Cardiff, for visiting is a great city. Friendly people, some great views to see and many clubs to party at. It's a perfect city if you're a student looking to find a university with how cheap it is compared to most other cities in the UK and with how small it is, you're never far from where you want to be. The only real downside to Cardiff is that there is such a bad problem with homelessness in the city centre, due to the main part of the city being so small, everywhere you go you'll see someone begging which is never nice to see.

If I needed to some up Cardiff in a short phrase It will be “a miniature cute version of London” There is so much to do ,so much to see and because it’s so small you don’t really have to take bus anywhere which saves you a lot of money as a student

Optimal amount of defaults food chain restaurants available, however if you’re willing to venture out (which is easy given that the city isn’t big and is well linked with public transport), you can try all sorts of food from all manor of cultural background.

Lots of things to do in and around Cardiff city centre, like visiting the castle, shopping and other activities. Then you have the Cathays area which is mainly students with lots of food and drink places, places to do university work etc.

Cardiff is an amazing city. Vast range of shops, restaurants and bars. The nightlife is second to none, whether you are looking for clubs or bars or cocktails Cardiff has something for everyone. It's also situated in a beautiful part of the country, with the coast and breacon on its doorstep.

There are brilliant places to eat, a surprising number if beautiful, large parks considering it is a capital city and the value for money is excellent. It has not only a vast number of chain restayrant but original, boutiqye ones as well and there are a number of fantastic individual bars. The number of such bars has reduced in recent years because of rising costs associated woth being a small bar business so I hope this doesn't continue to shut great bars. But otherwise it is a wonderful city and the people are very friendly and easy to talk to.

Lots of places to shop and eat in city centre. Good atmosphere, easy to walk to most places in the city but could use better rail links.

Plenty of places to go if you're a student, different student night out every day of the week (Quids in on a Monday, Revs on a Tuesday, Soda Wednesday etc) and plenty of places to stumble into to grab some grub on your way home!!

Cardiff is definitely a city filled with variety. Depending on the day you may get the bustle and hustle that living in a capital city brings or perhaps the quiet enjoyment that comes with a lazy Sunday afternoon. No matter the day, Cardiff is one of the best cities for students. It is one of the cheapest cities to live in and has an endless number of activities. The nightlife is vibrant, with the Live Lounge in the city centre is a prominent attraction. There are also endless number of nightclubs, which people all around Wales come to experience. Travel, while time consuming at times, is easy, with buses and trains running frequently and relatively cheap fares makes getting around very easy. Food is one area where Cardiff has a near unlimited variety on offer. Whilst big names such as McDonald's and Wetherspoons are dotted around the city, there are plenty of independent restaurants ranging from chip shops to high end eateries to experience. Events such as football and rugby games take centre stage in Cardiff. There are rowing clubs down in Cardiff Bay as well as plenty of running areas in all areas of the city. Those with an affinity for the theatre and music may like to visit the New Theatre or indeed, the majestic Millennium Centre. Or perhaps, they may like to visit the Tramshed, with cheap music events held most nights. Whatever you're looking for, Cardiff has the options available at a bargain price. You'd be hard pressed to find a cheaper city in the UK.

Cardiff is a great city with everything located in a fairly small area. There are a wide variety of shops in the centre, so you can get everything you need. Parking can sometimes be a nuisance, but it's mainly the traffic getting into car parks that brings it down. Traffic can be quite bad during rush hour, worsened by single lanes due to bus lanes & taxis. There is good transport in the city, with Uber and bus transport prevailing & always available. The city can be busy on match days etc, but is normally reasonably quiet. The nightclubs are good but are getting slightly outdated & Boring now. The restaurants are great, but there is an overall lack of entertainment and leisure facilities.

I've lived here for nearly 2 years and cannot fault it, as a student the atmosphere is always amazing, especially rugby days

Cardiff is a very lively city with a lot to do. No matter what your budget there are plenty of nice places to eat, especially hidden down the small arcades of the city centre. The night life can be a lot of fun (if with the right people) but can also become a little repetitive.

Cardiff is an amazingly compact city but it has a lot of character and the people are so friendly. On match days, when rugby matches take place in the stadium, the Welsh love of rugby becomes clear and the whole city comes alive. There are a range of really cool bars and restaurants in the city centre and in more student areas such as Cathays and Roath. The city is surrounded by beautiful countryside and Cardiff bay means you can enjoy being by the sea within just a short walk or bus journey away from the city centre. Public transport is really good and the cost of living is quite low compared to other cities.

Lots to do around this area including places to eat/ cinema/bowling/ mini golf.ect. Nights out are really good and prices are also good. Always student discount nights which comes in really handy and also lots of offers on drinks. Shopping centre is big and there are a range of shops which do great discount for students. Also a range of places to eat in the shopping centre and outside of it.

Cardiff has a lovely laid back vibe. It is homely, unrushed and unpretentious and just gets on with being a capital city without all the fuss. It's not flashy; there are neither droves of hipsters nor are the streets monopolided by rushed buisnessmen but there are hidden corners for everyone. The arcades are of course lovely to explore, but there are equally lots of independent gems to be discovered, such as The Boneyard or gig venues like Gwidhw. Without a doubt one of my favourite things about Cardiff has to be Bute Park. One can get lost in a real little forest on your way to Tesco and it has provided a breathing-escape on more occasions than I can count. The beautiful little Cardiff Castle that sits within it is also lovely to have, especially when in possesion of one of the Castle Keys that all residents are entitled to. Cardiff is cheap, friendly, green and functional. It has enough going on and enough to explore to keep your interest, everything is walking distance so you can really get to know it and its just an all round great place to live, even if it wont be permanently for me.

Cardiff is an ideal place to live as it's a capital city with everything a capital city should have and its full of life and yet it's no bigger than Bristol. London is an exciting place but it's insanely busy, commute is arduous regardless of where you are, expensive and can be overwhelming and difficult to feel at home there. I've found Cardiff to be exciting yet homely at the same time, I can walk easily from home to town and uni, people on the street are friendly and I've got Bute Park right on my doorstep.

Great clubs for a night out, hundreds of restaurants and pubs with great food and great beer. Lots of cheap places to eat and drink too. And there is always something to do, the music scene is great and it has a lot of beautiful areas.

Very lowkey city with alot of hidden gems. Quieter than most cities, which is much preferred for some. However, can also find alot of things to do if you look around. Beautiful scenery and clean city. Transport is cheaper than most places, and cant beat the cinema prices for students!

Great night life and shopping, could do with cheaper meals and transport for students. Lots of things to do, but at quite a high price

Cardiff is one of the biggest smallest cities you will visit. With the two big arenas, shopping centre, shopping arcades, high street and many other things it has everything and more you need all in one small place. Everything is within half an hour and nothing is too far away from anywhere. Cardiff also has a string of night clubs that big named places and always promise an amazing night out. Overall you will never be bored in Cardiff with something to do every day.

Cardiff is honestly such a beautiful city. However, I find that everything I quite spread and and you have to be ready for a walk to get everywhere unless you live close to the city centre. The transport around Cardiff is good and time saving but you'd save a lot more money by just walking about. The nights out are great as well, I usually do Pryzm Monday and Friday, Revs on a Tuesday, the CUSU on a Wednesday, Walkabout on a Thursday, Saturday anywhere/CUSU and Sunday at Soda. There's a shopping centre called St David's with as many shops as you can think of, as well as other shops around the town centre. In terms of eating out, the restaurants are concentrated in the town centre, with a food area in St David's, city road/Crwys road also have a lot of nice food places. Cardiff Bay is also a good place to get food but a bit far from the town centre if walking, I'd recommend a train to Cardiff Bay. In terms of entertainment, the cinema in Cardiff is very cheap, for £3.60 a ticket at Cineworld.
