Definitely the most sociable Cardiff accommodation. Close to most of the university buildings and only a 10 minute walk from the Student Union. The showers aren’t great as the bathroom is more of a wet room and the bedrooms are quite small but perfect for first year accommodation. Flats vary from 4 - 8 people.

it is extremely sociable here. There is always something fun going on/people to spend time with. However, it can get a bit noisy due to the layout of the halls. House 25/26/27 sit next to a communal courtyard which gets very noisy at night. The rooms are small but well designed and have everything you need.

Close to two food shops, easy 20 minute walk to the university and 30 minutes into the town centre. The halls themselves are basic but comfortable. Due to the large numbers of houses, there is often a lot of noise especially on big club nights. Maintenance were good at helping to solve and house keeping problems.

Great halls for a social life. Lots of parties etc. Cleaner once a week. Quite a long walk to lectures and town. Good heating

Talybont is definitely the most sociable hall of residence to stay at in first year. It's so big so you are bound to make friends staying in your halls, perfect for when walking home from a night out as you'll definitely have someone to walk back with. I personally loved Talybont South, definitely the best one out of all the taly halls as it's great for its price and not too far from town like Gate or North. I lived in a flat of all girls and we really got along, loved how big the kitchen is and the fact that we had a dining table which Court does not have. The rooms are quite small but to be honest I didn't feel like I needed more space, everything I needed fit in it. The bathroom is more like a shower room so you need to be a bit cautious with mould growing in the tile's cracks. I didn't really see that many silverfish so was quite happy about it, they're really not that bad.

Taly south was my second option but I'm so glad I ended up there. You're constantly around other students so never feel lonely and can always hear music coming from somewhere

The social experience is amazing at taly south! Definitely the best accommodation in Cardiff university for the atmosphere and night life. The halls are in much better condition compared to taly north and we have been blessed with an amazing cleaner - shout out to Sue.

I lived in Talybont South. Rooms all had an en-suite with a desk, single bed and cupboards. The room was a fairly small rectangular shape. Socialising was excellent here with lots of interaction. Location was 15 mins to the main university buildings and 25 mins to town.

Rooms are very small, although quite cute, very very lively, constant partying every night, can be a good and a bad thing. My house is very close to the train tracks so often get the noise from the trains, even in the early hours but otherwise, I wouldn't pick a different accommodation

Location is really good, walkable distance from heath and Cathays. All the sports facilities are really close by aswell. It's a really social halls and you're so near the other taly residences so it's easy to get to know people .

The halls are a good distance from university and town and are great for socialising. The WiFi can be patchy depending on where your room is.

Location of the infamous taly south was ideal! Short walk into town and uni. There’s a tesco, a subway and a pub less than 3 mins walk away. Facilities are fine, you get an ensuite and there are laundry facilities on site too, even though the app for that is terrible! Socially, taly south is known for being the best- and it was! You knew there was a party on somewhere every night! My room was on the ground floor, but surprisingly not as noisy as you’d think! The only issue is that you do share your room with the odd silverfish!

Talybont South was a great experience for party goers. Although it is sometimes noisy, there was always a party to go to! The halls were a good size with plenty of storage, but some could have done with a revamp. They were warm and safe, and I never felt uneasy. As all halls, sometimes you get put with people that you don't get along with but it makes you a more tolerant person. The set up of taly south is great and your friends are never far from you.

Location is 10 mins walk from uni but v social except the silver fish infestation room size is quite good however, do feel as if I’m in pen sometimes 3 my darrggs

My experience in these halls has been very pleasant, however, the odd time that I saw a silverfish wasn’t great.

Very noisy at night even on third floor. Not much near by but lots of other students live in Talybont so you are near friends.

Compared to other universities for halls around the same price it is very basic, no sofas to sit on and tiny rooms. The location is alright because it's within walking distance of town and uni. The social aspect is what makes this good, everyone close together and living close to so many people you know.

Social experience is fantastic, it's a real hub for student life Facilities are all up to standard and any complaints are dealt with promptly and effectively However we have received fines for things that we had no role in breaking

It’s not too far from uni, about 10-15 minutes depending what building you’re in. A bit further to town but taxis aren’t too expensive. The rooms are on the small side but have everything you need, I had an ensuite and it was in nice condition. It’s a shame there aren’t living rooms or common rooms but Taly social is just around the corner of you fancy socialising.

Really great for social life, only 15 minutes walk from both campuses, 30 minutes from town. Can get slightly noisy at night so not great if you want lots of sleep but there’s always someone up for going out if you are. Rooms are small but nice and have lots of storage room.

Talybont South has a great social life and there is always something going on. It is very lively and the accommodation itself is pretty good, each room has an ensuite and the shared kitchen is decent. The location is pretty good, not the best, but most students live in Talybont so it is easy to get a taxi into town or walk to the SU with a group of people.

fab place, although could do with a bit of a renovation. apart from that i had a class time when I was there for my first year of uni

The halls have a great social atmospher. The room is a decent size and the facilities are clean. The location is just a 15 minute walk from the university campus which is practical and about a 30 minute walk from the city centre.
