If you want a halls close to town then Senghennydd if your best choice. Town is only a 5 minute walk away and you’re always close to great pubs and bars, not to mention a sort walk from the SU too. The only issue I ever had was occasionally seeing rats outside in the open areas

Location is excellent for access to town and Cathays and most subject lectures halls (minus heath based subjects. Rooms are fairly large as far as Cardiff Uni accommodation goes. Sharing a bathroom isn't as bad as it's made out to be; I think I had to wait 3 times the entire year for the toilet or shower. The downside is the size of the kitchen in 2/3 of the flats. It is about the width of a cooker and the fridge is a squeeze for the number of people living there. It's doable and not as bad as it's made out to be. The trains are annoying at first but you get used to it - uni is just loud in general.

Senghennydd Court is a great value for your money. It's cheaper than all of the Talybont accomodation and you're so close to everything! Nightclubs, cinema, high street and lectures! It's the place to be. I guess the bedroom is really small and there is no comfy social place; it's really just plastic chairs in your tiny kitchen. Other than that, I wouldn't change my experience at Senghennydd for a thing. It's a great place for a welsh speaker as well with welsh speaking flats.

Senghennydd is ideal for location, with the city centre being only a 5 minute walk away. It's also ideal for lectures as is at tops a 10 minute walk from most of the main buildings.

The location is pretty much perfect. It's a two minute walk from the student's union, less than ten minutes to most university buildings and about five minutes from Queen Street (town centre). Laundry room is expensive and not always working- would recommend an airer. Socialising is difficult because of the small kitchen and no living room, but it is possible to have pres in there if you prop doors open. Cleaners are a bit unreliable and kicked us out of our own kitchen on numerous occasions. Rooms are surprisingly big because of the shared bathroom, with a large desk but little storage (take boxes for under the bed and buy a cheap bedside table). Kitchen space is very limited so be mindful of the fact that you can't do massive food shops due to lack of storage. Lots of seagulls and the noise from the train is appalling. Maintenance respond very quickly to repairs. Best of all it's cheap! £4100 for the year.

Although senghennydd were not the most luxurious halls, they were good because they were so central to everything only a 10 minute walk to uni or a 5 minute walk into town in the other direction, close to a Tesco and corner shops. Halls was definitely my best experience in uni I went in not knowing anyone and came out with friends for life I'm in my third year and we still live together now!

Not as bad as everyone thinks! Rooms are in good condition, decent size and maintenance are relatively fast if you have issues!

I was lucky enough to end up in the biggest flat! The residence was also really close to the town. The only thing that I didn't really like was my flatmates- but forunately I found friends in societies so my social experience was still good!

Excellent location for a night out as youre about 10 minutes at max from Pryzm. The shared bathroom is no different to living in a house with a family, you get over it quickly. Due to living so far away from the rest of the halls ghetto people become theyre own community and often have stronger friendships with each other over those who are in their course. The room is the same size as talybont North without the ensuite taking up half of the space and, depending on what flat, youll either have a rectangle kitchen prime for pres or a weird L shaped one. Unless you live in D5. Then youll live in the lap of luxury with your massive rooms and kitchen... overall I would highly recommend.

The location is ideal, a 5 minute walk to my lectures and a 10 minute walk in to town! The place has good security with separate keys to each flat! I would recommend for Welsh speakers to choose the Welsh flats because we have created a good friendly environment

The best thing about this hall of residence is its location. It's about ten minutes walk from the students union building and very close to the city centre. The residence is very secure with staff and security available 24/7. However it's not very spacious with only a kitchen and no room to relax outside of your bedroom. If you are part-catered the food is served in a restaurant about 5 minutes walk away from the residence and is very tasty and healthy.
