Bristol has a lovely vibe, as a student city there is so much going on and plenty of places to try out! There's plenty of things to get involved in

The best night life and music scene, including pubs, clubs and bars- whatever night you're looking for Bristol can cater for! A larger music venue for bigger acts is needed though. Cabot circus provides great shopping facilities and plenty of places to eat as well as Gloucester Road which offers great independent shops and places to eat/drink. Reason for 4 stars overall and not 5 is because the public transport is a joke (slow, unreliable and expensive) resulting in congested roads.

I absolutely love Bristol, moved here about 4 years ago and I'm not going anywhere. Public transport link is good and most of the time reliable. There is huge range of places to eat and to party. The atmosphere is great and people are friendly. Love it!

Bristol is a vibrant city full of street art and independent culture. It's got great night life with a large d&b scene but also a huge variety of music from funk&soul to baseline to pop. There's two decent size shopping areas with a big variety of shops and plenty of restaurants and bars. One thing that lets Bristol down is the public transport, expect your journey to take double the time the first bus app tells you it will take and expect at least one of your busses to be delayed or cancelled daily. Although Bristol markets itself as a cycling town I would say that the majority of the roads are not actually very bike safe. Also the design of the cycle lanes is ridulous, they are on the pavements and aren't painted a different colour or made easily distinguishable from the pedestrian area in any way, meaning people step in front of bikes daily. Apart from the transport issues, Bristol is a wonderful fun place, big enough to stay interesting, small enough to feel like home very quickly.

Bristol is a beautiful city! There's an abundance of activities offered as well as many fascinating places to eat and visit. Millennium square is gorgeous and offers many restaurants and bars. During Christmas, they open a small Christmas market and ice skating rink. Broadmead shopping center is where the larger Christmas market is and offers a variety of different food and drink options. Bristol is a very unique and energetic city. It offers the city feel yet it's cozy at the same time. Bristol offers something for people of all ages and activity levels.

A beautiful town with lots of attractions and events going on all year round. Popular shopping mall: cribbs causeway and Cabot circus are definite go to.

Strong variety of food and entertainment. Can eat from different parts of the world everyday! So many veggie and vegan options also! Most of the food is reasonably priced however drinks are very expensive. Music scene is buzzing, every night there is something different. Great opportunities for up and coming artists with an abundance of open mic nights. Buses are over priced for students however they are frequent and mostly reliable.

A beautiful, vibrant city which effortlessly merges the edgy street scene of banksy and stokes croft with the more regal sights of Clifton and the bustling city centre. With an excellent range of shops, restaurants, bars, clubs and pubs, you would be hard pressed to find yourself with nothing to do. The city is also extremely safe with a very low crime rate. I have never felt in danger here, even alone at night. The city is extremely student friendly with a very large student population. It can get a bit pricey, but this is truly the only downside of a wonderful city.

Bristol is a large, vibrant, divers city at the heart of the south west, with everything from food to shops

The city centre is full of cheap, good quality food deals if you know where to look, especially with a student card, and there are a lot of independent shops/cafes. If it's warm, go sit out on the Harbourside by the river and have a beer!

Bristol is such a young and vibrant to city to live in. There will always be activities/events going on in the town every week. The people in Bristol are friendly as well.

Bristol is the most vibrant city and perfect for student life. On one hand, there are millions of pubs and bars (all quite cheap), and also bigger nightclubs with themes nights like ABBA, spanish reggaeton nights or with guest DJs (tickets are also quite cheap especially if you get earlybird). On the other hand Bristol is full of cafes or nice cozy places to go for brunch/lunch where you can even stay to work or study. The uni also has in my opinion the best study centres (Ive seen a few from other unis) and one of them offers a full meal for 6 pounds at the cafe that changes everyday (and have fish, meat and vegeterian options). There is also a really cool market every Sunday in the cuty centre that sells all types of food (asian, spanish, american, desserts). As for shopping... you can find ANYTHING in the shopping mall Cabot Circus and the surrounding area of broadmead. The city is also full of vintage shops dotted around, although some are quite expensive.

Most likely the best area to be for a uni student, the city itself is just completely full opportunities, great people and amazing places. The university itself is the most helpful and reassuring place I've ever been to, which has made it great. The nights out are something else, honestly they're just the best I've ever experienced.

Great place to live, really unique! Plenty of restaurant, my favourite being zar zar. Lots of choices for vegans. Just be careful where about a in Bristol you go as St. Paul's and Gloucester Road are known to be quite rough. Other than that I love Bristol!!!

Brilliant Bristol brings culture, great experiences and everything you need in one city. From the harbour, to the shopping centres and pubs and spas. Plenty of transport including Uber's, and good patrol of the city so you feel safe. Would recommend a visit to anyone looking for a great day out or a new adventure :)

Bristol is an overall great city with a variety of clubs for everyone, and a good offering of good and shopping (especially with newer shops popping up at the Cabot Circus, the main shopping centre). Food wise - there's a good choice around, but some Asian cuisines are notably either hard to find, or sub-par. Props to Kansai Kitchen as the best Japanese food in Bristol, but an overall poor showing of Japanese or Korean food in Bristol. Transport is unfortunately quite spotty, with traffic and slow changing of drivers in the city centre. Going to 'further out' areas in Bristol by public transport can take more than double the amount of time it would take by car. Bristol is not by any means a cheap city, but is definitely not London-level expensive! Eating out is always going to be more expensive than in, but there's a range of food and activities in Bristol for a decent price.

Bristol is a gorgeous city full of life and culture. Whether you want nights out, coffee dates, independent stores or aesthetic restaurants this city has it all. The Christmas Market is amazing and harbourside is a beautiful place for a walk or a meal out any time of the year. My favourite thing about Bristol is it doesn't have the big, crowded feel most cities do. It has everything cities have that make them great but feels as friendly as a town.

Bristol is an amazing town to visit and live with night life being good and the food available at Bristol being phenomenal, particularly in Cabot circus there is a good range of places to eat within close range of each other so your never have lack of choice. Bristol harbour is also amazing with Bristol harbour festival happening every year which brings all the locals and people outside Bristol together. Areas are being redeveloped rapidly for example Wapping Wharf well known for new trendy food places and small shops. Shopping in Bristol is also great with Cabot circus being predominant including lots of good shops for youth such a urban outfitters and Monki. As well as many shoe shops for all age groups

Lovely and lively place to live. Lots of interesting things to do, and activities that appeal to a variety of people. Bristol is a very quirky place to live and has a cool music and art scene. The city centre is big and has a wide range of big name shops as well as locally owned ones.

Nights out are insane! There is so much variety so whatever music your into there's something for you! As for the shopping that's also amazing! Depending on whether you live city centre or a bit further out it can literally be a 2 minute walk to one of the best shopping centres in the country.

Everything is good, despite the city is small I find it equipped with full range of necessities. The transport is great as if cover quite a lot of places but sometimes it annoys me that the public buses would be cancelled at last minute especially during night time which I find it quite disappointing. Aside from the public transportation I like the vibe of the city. Eating out is one of the good choice as student discounts are most of the time available for claim. If not ordering food online is also quite convenient as the delivery service are effective, overall.
