Location is good. Lots of things to do and easy to get around. Shops are cheap and easy Tesco isn't far from halls but Aldi is better and also not too far

The location of the main campus in the city centre is very convenient and has easy close access to many great shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife. However as a vet student for my fourth and fifth year I have to move out of the city to a different campus in the countryside. Here it is more isolated, doesn't have such easy access to shops and has little to offer in terms of things to do and socialising.

Living on campus makes it difficult to go out at times as there are few buses that go into city centre late at night however, we have always found a way to get into town and various other parts of Bristol. The sightseeing is amazing and there are a lot of areas in Bristol which I am still waiting to be able to go and experience.

Bristol is an amazing city with lots of things going on all the time no matter what day of the week. I want to live here now when I am older

The university of Bristol is in a brilliant place. It is located near the centre of Town and near a main road that has many cheap places to eat. Everywhere worth visiting (e.g. Cabot tower, the suspension bridge, your own halls) is within walking distance and even if it's too much walking for you there are some good bus routes especially in the centre. The it downside is that the uni is at the top of a very big hill and depending on where you live you may have to travel up that hill every day. It's not that bad though, I got used to it.

Great gigs, food and coffee! Everything is walkable and only downside is the expense of the city in general.

Amazing food and coffee options and great markets. Love that everything is a walkable distance. Nightlife has something for everyone and there are tonnes of gigs. Only downside is expense of the city in general.

Awesome cafes, food shops and markets. Great nightlife and the gig scene is amazing. The zoo, aquarium and museum are all fun as well. Everything is a walkable distance . Only problem is Bristol is a generally expensive city.

Bristol is great as it's such a vibrant city with endless things to do, from day events to shopping to the nightlife. Everyone in Bristol is so so friendly, and you can't go anywhere without making a new pal. There's loads of quirky places to eat and drink, and I've tried some delicious, adventurous foods. I've been in Bristol for almost 3 years now and I feel like I've barely even brushed the surface. The only pitfall of living in Bristol is it is slightly expensive, especially for a student on an extremely tight budget.

There is so much to do in Bristol that you never have a problem finding a restaurant or night club or cafe. However for students of University of the west of England there is nothing close to frenchay campus. You have to venture into the city centre for any nightlife and for shops which is difficult with public transport. When the snow happened recently students of UWE couldn’t get anywhere close to the city centre due to public transport being suspended which was annoying as all clubs were still open in the centre. Filton area needs more students based places !

Bristol is a great city for club nights, with clubs for any taste of music. We have R+B nights, grime, house, indie and pop music. We also have loads of venues for live music and theatre, and also a bit of opera. We have 3 main shopping areas where you can find everything you need and Gloucester Road has so many independent restaurants to cater to any taste. The only problem is that the buses are largely quite unreliable, but this is not too much of an issue since Bristol is a small city so you can walk everywhere you need.

Bristol is a fun exciting place similarly to where I originally live in London. One of my favourite things about Bristol is that everything is really close together and it's really easy to find local store's as it's literally just in your doorstep.

Beautiful city with a great atmosphere. Loads of amazing independent places to eat or go for drinks in the evening. Nights out to suit everyone’s tastes. Large shopping centre in the article of the city. Easy transport links to other nearby cities such as bath or Cardiff or even into London. Lots of green spaces and only a short drive into the countryside or to the coast.

Been here for over three years, it’s a Lovely city some areas are quite cheap to rent while some are expensive. Also there are lots of places to eat, shop and have a nice night out.

I chose UWE Bristol because it had partnership with my old uni. The city is lovely, average house prices but some areas are quite expensive also there are lots of places to eat and have a nice night out.

Lots of food options and nightlife is great! With regular bus and train options it’s easy to get in and out of the city centre. Also shopping is great to do but gets highly busy Saturdays so recommend weekday evenings after 5pm as parking is only £2 in the two main car parks

Clubs are small and a bit shit but the pubs are sick, ideal for postgrad maybe not undergrad. Very expensive compred to elsewhere but the city is amazing.

Perfect place to be, other than the constant asking of change (I wanna be able to help but If I just give them all my money I'll have none) but the scenery is beautiful, the people are hilarious and I've never felt more homely than here. I shall be staying after uni.

Bristol is an amazing city to live in, almost like a toned down London. There's always something to do, the nightlife is great, there's a lot of independent pubs and cafes and fast food places - far better than being surrounded by chain brands. Unfortunately, the prices of accommodation reflect this, and you should expect to spend around £150 pw in halls and £110 in housing. Train and bus links are good to big cities like London (could get a bus return for not much more than a tenner), although the train station isn't close to accommodation. There is a large shopping centre (Cabot Circus) which is great for shopping (duh) and finding good restaurants to get your parents to take you to when they visit. IF you do go to Bristol, your first stop must be Taka Taka, the best take out you'll ever have. Overall, I couldn't recommend Bristol enough: with its amazing acitecture, student vibe and constant life, there's no better place to spend your uni days.
