There really are so many amazing things to do in Bristol! Whether you're looking for a great day out with the whole family, a romantic break for two or an epic solo adventure we know you’ll find just what you’re looking for here. So let’s get started by reminding you of all the famous things to do in Bristol: Clifton Suspension Bridge, Brunel’s ss Great Britain, Bristol Balloon Fiesta and Banksy street art tours. These things make up our fine city and are certainly not-to-be-missed. But don’t think for one second the fun ends there… we’ve got underground gigs for music lovers, gorgeous green spaces for relaxation, historic houses and museums full of intrigue, cutting-edge art galleries and independent cinemas, cool restaurants and bars, some marvellous markets

The location of Bristol in the Wild Wild West of England may initially be deceiving. It is actually one of the liveliest, student-orientated cities I have ever visited (although of course I am biased). There are plenty of things to do if you can handle the hills. From walking up Cabot tower or hanging out around harbourside or up on the downs, to shopping in Cabot Circus, broadmead or cribbs causeway. There are often events throughout the year. Films are shown in the caves for Halloween, the balloon festa displays light displays of Hot air balloons every summer and there are many more that seem to pop up every couple of weeks. It is also easy enough to go on day trips to bath/ the south west, Birmingham and the North or even over to London (which is less than 1.5 hours by train or 3 on the coach). The night life is diverse. An edgier scene can be found along Gloucester Road in the notoirios motion and lacota whereas for a cheesier night out or a night with clubs and societies, there are lounge, bunker, agora, Pam pams (where you are likely to meet UWE students) and Lola lo’s all within 2 minutes walk from each other. There are many more clubs but if you don’t feel like clubbing, there are a number of large pubs very near the uni including 2 weatherspoons. There is also a lot of food to choose from... the 2nd largest all you can eat restaraunt in Britain is here: zaza bazar and there are many other restaraunts popular with students. There are simply too many to name but a few are: the stable, burger joint, wahacca (although I think they have just got rid of their student discount), pizza express (40% student discount) and many many more. The only problem is, as mentioned before, you HAVE to be prepared to handle the hills of the West Country which can be intense. The transport around the city is not great and is fairly expensive. The bus is the only option as even if you are a rich bitch with banker parents, a car won’t get you anywhere as there is no parking (great for the environment though)! You can bike around but the hills can be tough and you don’t really need to as student land only really stretches from the train station to the downs. One really big downside is the cost. Everything will cost a pretty penny even with the student discounts, in particular the accommodation is one of the most expensive outside of London... although there are some slightly cheaper places if you search hard and early on.

Has insane nights out including some of the best clubs in UK. Amazing multicultered food, street art, buildings and nature areas. Has a really unique culture that you won't find anywhere else in the UK. A bit expensive but worth the money

Bristol is an amazing city, with a lot of variety of things to do and see. It’s large enough to be varied but small enough to walk around. However the hills do mean people make use of the many buses and trains here. The transport can be unreliable but is pretty cheap. Town has above average shops and restaurants, a cinema and park. Hip Stokes Croft is great for bars and especially in the summer. Park Street offers more independent shops and cafes and is very close to the university campus. The Clifton triangle offers cheap nightlife for students. Redland is a great location for second, third and fourth years to live more quietly but still within reach of both the Clifton triangle and Stokes Croft. Some students also choose to live near scenic Clifton by the bridge. I only give Bristol 4 stars as it has a pretty terrible incidence of homelessness, although more charities seem to be showing an interest in changing this and helping these people to find homes.

Bristol is full of things to do and the campus in Clifton has got loads of pubs, cafes and restaurants nearby so you never have to go far when you want food or drink! It’s also on the door step of Park Street where you can wonder around, go shopping or relax on college green

i chose my university mainly because i have lived in Bristol all my life. i have never found the need to leave this beautiful city as it has everything i need and more than enough nightlife, social action and art than anywhere else i would want to go. over all i believe that Bristol is a nurturing and growing city. only downside is thee occasional drunk person in the city centre.

Really great city to live in as a student. Always so much going on within university and in the wider community. Lots of varied shops, bars and restaurants catering for all budgets.

Bristol has got to be one of my favourite places I have visited too. Its large culture diversity is intriguing and the wide spectrum of different food aromas is bliss. Nights out are always a good one on Park street or Bristols centre by the harbour. Yes transport can be slow sometimes but its efficient and nothings better than resting in your seat staring at Bristol's history such as; Clifton Suspension Bridge, HMS Great Britain.

Bristol is a great city with plenty of clubs and pubs. It’s also great for shopping, you will never be short on anything! The university is at the top of a hill which can be problematic if you’re walking from the centre to the uni however this isn’t much of a problem. Bristol is a lovely vibrant city with plenty going on.

One of the best cities in the U.K.! Great student city as well (as we have the 2 universities- Bristol and UWE Bristol). Nightlife is not too bad, there are many bars and clubs to go to for a night out and you can definitely find a club with the music you want to have a great time in. The city centre is great for things to do, see and to shop, it's not dull at at all and you have the Habourside and the Clifton suspension bridge to see

Okay location, not too far from city centre and near a few shops. Next to the train station which is very useful and is not too busy an area. There are restaurants near by and lots of buses too.

Bristol is a wonderful city to experience uni in, not too big as to feel lost in the masses but still has a lot going on no matter what you're into! With an abundance of festivals throughout the year, from the balloon fiesta to dot to dot and loves saves the day it's an exciting place to be.

Bristol has lots to do such as we the curious, aquarium, the suspension bridge, Clifton & St Nicks market. They have special student deals on for the planetarium late at night (adults only) which is good value for money. I do think Bristol is over priced for a night out. Especially when it’s not a student night. It is only a 40minute train journey from Cardiff. There is good transport links to and from city centre.

Bristol is like a mini mini mini London. Very busy, full of things to do in terms of food, drinks, shopping and quirky places to just sit and chill. I’ve personally found that nights here aren’t that fun, I would rather go to uni “raves” or functions. But overall it’s a great city full of things to do - it is also very weird, and full of strange characters - I wouldn’t might staying here for a couple of more years after I graduate.

Fantastic nights out including thekla and plenty of shopping opportunities but super pricey and traffic is a pain! Check out Gloucester road for amazing charity shops and independent coffee shops. A really cool and diverse city with plenty to do and lots of cheap/free days out. Really cool place for students

Amazing city to live in, whether you are an adult , student or child. A lot of job opportunities. Beautiful scenery and it is the green capital of the UK. I attended University West of England, it is a really good university. The night life is fun with lots if restaurants, bars and clubs to choose from. Great value of money with lots of bars offering 2 for 1 cocktails throughout the city.

Bristol is a diverse city with lots of things to do. There are many clubs that offer a variation of music as well as amazing places to eat located in every part of Bristol. The harbourside offers great bars and places to chill during summer

Within 5 mins of the campus: gym and libraries; the popular student street (Park Street) with cafes, restaurants, bars, clubs and vintage shopping; Within 10 minutes: Whiteladies Road - great road for restaurants and so good to live by with the massive Sainsbury’s and Clifton Down train station Within 20 minutes: Cabot circus shopping mall; Gloucester Road - very Bristol (edgie, bit hippie and always interesting to explore, great night out with free live music at the Canteen and Love Inn too); Harbourside (bit more grand and close to city centre- bustling but can also be very peaceful); SU is a little way off in this category towards Clifton but worth the visit for the Balloon Bar’s cheap drinks, great study space, Olympic size swimming pool, various classes and constant shows and events. Ashton Court- massive park with deers, golf, place to mountain bike, Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Observatory are not to miss but close to Clifton Village which is near to the Clifton accommodations.

Bristol has such a diverse nightlife, from club nights to warehouse raves to pub crawls. Cheltenham and Gloucester Road are my favourites for little independent pubs and bars, as well as all the boutique shops and galleries. Bristol also has great food to offer, as alongside all the main restaurants it also has great markets, such as St Nicks, which are much more affordable. Overall, Bristol is a very creative, cultural and liberal city, which constantly has different events going on.
