University hall is branded poverty hall and for good reason because it’s small and not the prettiest of halls but for my first year, I was completely fine with this- I intended to spend a lot of time outside of my room and socialise, had to share a flat with 4 others and it was fine, you get to write a personal statement about yourself so they match you up with agreeable people & I enjoyed my flat & flatmates for that reason. Downside is it’s a single bed & now moving into a double bed room for my 2nd and 3rd year- I realise that I much prefer it but honestly for my first year I didn’t mind too much. You get a lot of storage space even though it’s a small room. The culture in UH is very down to earth and people just wanna socialise. It’s based in Stoke bishop as well which is a lil student hub, had a campus vibe and shop and bus service, very social- loads of students about, so I enjoyed that.

The rooms are really nice with loads of storage room considering the price you're paying, have occasionally had issues with the hot water and heating but always been fixed quickly. Kitchens are well equipped but very cramped

Great social life and rooms are very decent for the price- exactly what you'd expect from student accommodation. They are cleaned weekly and the facilities in the kitchen are good.

I would say my experience at uni halls was good, but the main problem that everyone found was that it was just too far away. Yes there was a free bus weekdays 9-5 which was good, but outside of that it was very hard to get there and from it. I ended up spending a fair amount of money on taxis. The social there could also do with a bar, as there was really no pubs within walking distance of the halls. I know that some of the buildings were nice and refurbished, but my block coachmans could really do with a some renovations.

Location - could be closer but there was a bus service provided. The bus service ran every hour and never really corresponded with times I finished uni but it was available none the less. Room - fortunately I was housed in birchwood block which was the nicest one on site. Good sized rooms and big flats so easy to make friends which is essential for first year halls. Other blocks cleanliness and space was somewhat questionable.

The main halls look a bit like prison blocks from the outside, have limited space and not much in the realm of communal areas. The ensuits however are similar in price but have notable luxuries in comparison. All halls in stoke bishop are a bit out of the ways. But putting hundreds of young people a whole bus ways away from town means something is going on most nights. Id say the social life is much better than the city halls as poeple hang out in bigger groups - across all the stoke bishop halls. The bus services are actually very good and reliable

Small and basic but worth it for the money, everyone has been very social and distance from the uni is okay

Really good value for money, even though the facilities are not as good as some of the other Stoke Bishop halls considering the much cheaper rent you get a lot for what you pay for. Lots of storage and newly renovated kitchens, and right next to the Stoke Bishop bus stop.

The room was like a prison. The bed sunk to the floor, there was mould on the walls and it smelt like someone had died in there when I first moved in. As well as this there were no shops around and it was very far out, which made it hard to find food after 9pm. The university did supply a bus in the week but it ran from 9-6 only. They began a night bus 2 weeks toward the end of summer term which was very pointless for me. This accommodation needs a big scrub up because it's not healthy to let students live in these conditions as it effected my mental and physical health.

University hall is further away from the main campus than most other halls, but probably only by about 5 or 10 mins. The great thing is that the uni runs a bus during the week, so whereas I get to sit on a bus for 15-20 minutes to get to lectures in the morning, my friends at other halls are walking for at least 20 minutes, sometimes in the rain. It's in a nice quiet area, so you're not next to the railway tracks or a main road like some other halls. There aren't loads of services locally, the nearest Tesco's is probably about 20 minutes walking, but there is a Lidl pretty much on campus which most students shop at anyway and then you can get the bus back. The fact that it's a bit more isolated means that you get that bit closer with your flatmates.

As expected for price paid, nice renovated kitchens, lots of room storage. Good location in terms of other accommodation, and a good bus service to uni but slightly inconvenient for facilities

Aesthetically, awful, looks like a prison. Cramped rooms. But, Amazing people, the most down to earth, most fun, always had good parties. Think the low price attracted the more down to earth, had more state school students who generally are easier to get along with - less poshos.

The facilities in University Hall left a lot to be desired; the kitchen and rooms were tiny and the shower room was quite dingy. There was a lot of storage space in the bedrooms but it really didn't make up for the lack of space and distance away from university. However the social side of Stoke Bishop was great and there's a great sense of community

Wont lie, University Hall is pretty basic compared to some of the other halls in Bristol. However, the halls are so sociable and chilled ;the stoke Bishop bubble is pretty fun as there always things to do/ people to talk to. Also going to the Downs in the summer is great

Ok, cheapest halls so understandably not as nice as some of the others. I loved being in Stoke Bishop which gave more of a campus feel being surrounded by students. Even though it seems far from uni its not too bad with the bus, and it is a nice walk

Great people, had such a good time! Easy to get to know people right beside the bus stop. Facilities food be better I.e. kitchens but these are the cheapest halls in Bristol so you get what you pay for. Rooms are a good size, social experience was great the people are so sound in UH.
