CLV - Belgrave View

Belgrave view was overall largely disappointing. The kitchen area lacked sufficient storage space and sharing a singular small fridge between 5 people wasn't enough for a weeks worth of shopping. The rooms provided looked almost nothing like the ones advertised on the website and the single rooms were essentially glorified corridors. Most difficult was trying to get back the deposit from CLV which they held for several months and the process to get it back was unnecessarily difficult. Also the accommodation is a 40 minute walk from the university and on an extremely loud and busy crossroad. Wouldn't recommend anyone staying in this accommodation.

Even though it is a little expensice and far from uni, there are so many opportunities for the night life and people to befriend!

The location is great for nights out as its very close to all the clubs. A few clubs are a 5-10 min walk and the rest are only a 15 min walk. The bus stop is right in front of the accommodation and it has 2 busses that run every 6 minutes and go to UOB with a single ticket being just 1 pound for a UOB student. The bus stop for going to town is a 3-minute walk and that bus stops right in front of the bullring and grand central. There is a McDonalds right across the road, which is great. (It works from 5 am to midnight) The accommodation is a 40-minute walk from uni which is very bad. And even though the buses run frequently, they are very often late or not in service and you can get a 4-week ticket for 40 pounds. (Worth it if you go to uni/town every day. And you can use that pass for other buses in Bham. The rooms are pretty big (I had a silver room in block A) and the kitchens in my block were very big but the other blocks had smaller kitchens. There was only one fridge which is definitely not enough for 5 people and the rooms weren't that clean when we moved in. (Some people had broken chairs and cupboards)Showers in the rooms are just like a "wet room" so not great but the big bed and room size kind of makeup for that. They had a few pretty good social events like Fussball and cheap/free food from food trucks outside and even a bouncy castle. Wifi is pretty fast but quite a few times it stopped working. Long review but these are the things I would have wanted to know before moving in.
