TalkTalk Broadband Reviews

Brilliant most of the time. Service can drop a bit but have no problems and usually back online in a matter of minutes, great customer service and brilliant staff.

talk talk has a great set of offers however they do increase the price during the contract. however they are the cheapest broad band service available. their internet is fast and reliable especially when it is unlimited offers. they do have great customer service and they manage to help their clients. they do have a very high contract termination fee..it would be mush better to finish up your contract other than terminating it.

I have been with TalkTalk since the beginning of the academic year when I moved into my second year university accommodation and it has been everything you could ask a broadband to be, I have no troubles with it at all and would highly recommend to others.

Super fast broadband works very well, no issues at all. I'm very happy. I know talktalk have got a lot of bad reviews but i have to say i have had the 70MB fibre for 2 years and it is excellent, I've got full speed and never any drop outs only 2 issues all that time and although the support can be a bit long winded, its a lot better than many of the others and they are improving all the time, especially good is the chat support from the app or the website. Going by the cost as well (one of the cheapest) all i can saw is excellent and i give the full 5 stars..

Very good and reliable, with a quick set up. However, does occasionally drop out, so you have to reset the box. Very cost-effective and download speed is good.
Anonymous
Works very slowly recently. The broadband doesn't get any better even when you disconnect and reconnect. I end up using my 5g data 95% of the time.
Anonymous
The speed is relatively okay however the reliability isn't very good as the WiFi is quiet intermittent and disconnects a lot.

We joined talk talk back in September and the amount we're paying is not worth the speed of internet.. the moment we can get out of this we will be. Don't go to talk talk, anywhere else but here...

To be honest talktalk is absolutely dreadful. We used their service for around 6 years and despite paying for 3mbps+ we only ever recieved >1. The customer service is dreadful, to the point where my partner called for help with setting up the new router, and they asked her if there was a man around that could do it for her. Most of the service reps do not care and just want to get you off the phone as soon as possible. Overall they are dreadful, left me without internet multiple times and did nothing to resolve it. I would avoid talk talk at all costs as they are dreadful.

The speed of this broadband network isn't great, especially as I am a student, when it comes to using the internet for researching or just browsing for important stuff it just becomes slow most of the time. However I do still manage to use the WiFi for watching Netflix etc. Furthermore, as I have quite a lot on internet GB's from my mobile phones network I usually just turn off the WiFi if it gets too slow and annoying, this suggests how unreliable the broadband network is. Moreover, the price of this broadband provider doesn't suit its usage, meaning that it isn't worth it, struggling to use WiFi in your own home is the worst thing ever and we will hopefully be switching to something way more faster and reliable as well as good value for money.

The internet frequently stops working for no reason and can't be fixed. The help service is appalling

Overall good internet. Everyone can connect and will work however sometimes doesn't work when I am upstairs.
Anonymous
Connection is pretty poor and frequently drops out. Funnily enough, it suddenly begins to work perfectly if decide to upgrade to their most premium service. Customer service is extremely unhelpful as well.
Anonymous
It rarely ever works & the speed is very slow. We have had many WiFi speed enhancer products but most stop increasing the speed after a week or two. The customer service is also very frustrating.
Anonymous
The speed of the WiFi is slow which affects the reliability of the internet. Moreover, there should be more perks on offer during the sign up process, which could encourage more people to join.
Anonymous
Absolutely awful constantly goes off and is especially annoying when watching a film on netflix. Do not go with this provider.

The broadband I have from talktalk is affordable at a great price. It is fast and reliable enough to for my small growing family. Not sure what the future holds for the broad and I have. Possibly change to a different tariff. Or possibly change providers. But talktalk is what we are sticking with for now, as it fulfills its purpose and does what we need it to do.

The area that we live in does not accommodate fibre optic broadband which is a shame as TalkTalk had a great deal at the time, however despite being the cheapest package the internet reliability is not too bad. It does tend to dip at peak times but we expected that and for the price we pay it's not terrible. The customer service is pretty good, however I don't know why they added an extra £2 monthly fee for an add-on which would trick a lot of customers who aren't paying attention. It should have been something that I chose to enable rather than something that was enabled for me.

Sometimes the router needs to be restarted for basically no reason. But this is only once or twice a month and it usually resets itself perfectly. So overall I'm happy because its pretty cheap and it works.
Anonymous
The speed of the broadband is very good, it never crashes or needs restarting. I have not faced any issues in using it or connecting it. It was simple to set up with clear instructions. The only fault i could comment on was that there was a mixup with the delivery, but after talking to a member of the talk talk customer services team, it was quickly sorted and re delivered.

We got the cheapest deal Talk Talk do for £17 a month and it's honestly the best value for money. We've not really had any issues about from sometimes it slightly drops when we're downloading stuff on the PS4 and other people are using it to watch videos etc. Really good internet speed and they had a quick turn-on date so we didn't have to wait weeks and weeks.

Paid a great price for fibre-optic broadband, its not as fast as some other providers on fibre but it is certainly alot faster than standard broadband. I had a problem within the first couple of days as the router stopped working, this was at about 11pm. I got got straight on the phone to talk talk and they were more than happy to help. it did take a while to convince them that the router was actually broken however i imagine they get many people calling up who don't have a clue. needless to say within 2 days the wifi was back up and running.

TalkTalk have absolutely crap customer service. When we moved house, it took them days to complete the change on their end and get our service up and running. However, the internet is reliable and the speed is as good as you're going to get for the cheap price.
Anonymous
Since joining TalkTalk all the problems I used to experience with other broadband networks have gone. It is super speedy and the signal is great in every room of the house with only one router downstairs! Also very affordable, would highly recommend to anyone!
Anonymous
Bad, bad at internet and they don't help. They don't help when you are on the phone to them when you have an issue
Anonymous
Never had an issue untill moved address and the engineer appointment to fix the line was cancelled on 3 occasions leaving me without internet access for 2months despite still paying the bill. No apology and no explanation to why it happened and the issue wasn't resolved.
Anonymous
The Internet was slow to begin with but was quickly rectified to the promised Internet speed. It can easily handle up to 10 people using the Internet at once without speed dropping. It is also incredibly affordable, especially split between a house of people. Would definitely recommend
Anonymous
The customer service is terrible. An awful lot of bureaucracy to get a simple answer for a simple question. I also wouldn't class the broadband as reliable at all
Anonymous
The internet connection is weak in most parts of the house. The connection is unreliable, comes and goes. I have had to use an extension part provided by Talk Talk but that is of no use. Speed is mostly good.
Anonymous
Never had connection issues. Great reliable speeds are a low price. Service is pretty good and the free router is excellent
Anonymous
When we joined it was good value as we got a free voucher for Tesco for £50 which was really good value but the actual internet is incredibly slow and I can't use it most of the time even if one device is being used. When trying to improve it it seemed we were just passed from one department to the next.
Rebecca Hooker
Internet is very cheap and fast in the Leicestershire region and it quickly connects to my devices. I had a problem after original set up that the router was not connecting to the internet but this was sorted promptly after a conversation with customer services.

Great wifi connection around the flat and we have usually struggled to find a connection that covers the flat. We had a few issues with actually getting the wifi fitted with the handyman not turning up at the given time and it then taking a week longer than the original date to set it uo. But saying that, when we rang up and complained we were well compensated with money off the first month and this was dealt with very efficiently. We feel we have a good deal and are happy are pay for the service that we are recieving!

I have been with the same network for two years, however at least once a week our WiFi goes down, as a student WiFi is needed for my coursework, whenever I've been on the phone to get help, they have helped so I must give them that. I hope this helps other people, as a student the price for the broadband is definitely good though.

The speed is good, I can watch Netflix at high quality but occasionally gets very slow and lags a bit (but only for 1h in a day). It hasn't ever crashed or anything like that so overall quite happy with it. You can't watch 4K quality videos or even 1080p as it might slow down the video significantly.
Anonymous
Very slow internet speed, it takes so long to upload anything. At first I thought it was because my room was far away from the router, but its only slightly better when I sit right next to it. Not suitable for houses with many users- living with 4 other people and when we are all using it, its impossible to do anything. The only good thing is that it was the cheapest deal we could get, but I would pay a few pounds more per month to have something that works better.
Anonymous
The speed of talk talk can be quiet slow at times, and the reliability of the internet stretching to every room in the house is unpredictable and can affect uni work.
Anonymous
Firstly I just wanted to say that I have had this broadband providers for over years now and one think I can say is that the customer service line takes about 30 if not more. The speed of the internet is okay considering there are multiple users who are using the internet at the same time.

We pay £18 a month for our WiFi and line rental, although we don't use the line rental. The internet is good and reliable but I struggle to stay connected on my phone when streaming or on the PlayStation. Sometimes the internet is slow but only on mobile devices, I never have issues with using our laptops. For what we pay I think it's worth the money as it's cheap and works 99% of the time.
Anonymous
Okay but they lie to reel you in and then have you locked to a contract. When it's working its fine. When there's problems They don't care
Anonymous
Speed is sometimes slow despite supposedly being fibre. Call centres are based abroad and sometimes hard to get your point across to the person in the phone. They say no increase in price when you take a contact but they still increase without notice
Anonymous
An overall good experience with Talk talk. However, when first joining we had some connection problems which we are still having... they still haven't been resolved.
Anonymous
The speed is disappointing, not as promised . The customer service is really slow and they tend to take a lot of my time before there is any solution. The price is comparatively cheaper than some other providers but that comes with a cost i guess.
Anonymous
I recently moved house and the customer service team were very helpful as me and my mum run a business from home and therefore needed to ensure clients would be able to reach us. They ensured that the same day the previous tenants internet disconnected our would connect the same day along with the telephone.
Anonymous
Terrible, could only have 7 devices connected to router. Internet was also unreliable and very slow.
Keaton Moloney
The WiFi hub is posted out to you and is super stylish and sleek, with a really modern look. Setup is simple and easy and installation engineer were speedy and available on a wide range of days and times. Talktalk also keep you informed regularly via texts so you're in the loop from the get go and throughout the installation process. The WiFi is really fast and speedy and can handle 4/5 devices at any one time as we have tested through our busy house. Would recommend this WiFi to anybody as you can't fall off for the price, the quality and the service!

I always get good coverage with my Internet across various devices :if there is ever an issue customer service is always helpful and react quickly.
Anonymous
Even though it had to go online on the date they mentioned. It never went online as 5 engineers came and checked in a period of 4 months. Even though i cancelled, i am still not paid back.

TalkTalk's broadband supply was always consistent and was of a pretty decent quality considering we lived in Buxton and everyone else we knew, their connection was janky at best. The billing process was simple and efficient and when it came to cancel they just rounded off my final bill in the month before so I didn't have to worry about it come moving month which was nice of them and all it took was a phone call!
Lucy Morehen
Amazing, cheapest fibre on the market and for lots of students working at once fast internet is ESSENTIAL. Thank you!

The speed and reliability of the internet is good, but the hidden charges that are involved are just a bit much. £12 for bounced back payment? Really?! Anyway, I would say that the offer is rather good, but you are not getting your money worth. The WiFi signal is not as strong as it could be and I saw an offer from Vodafone where you get faster internet for the same price. The customer service is only helpful when setting up payments, then, afterwards they are not too helpful.
Anonymous
Very good value for money, cheaper than all the main providers, almost half the price of Virgin Media. No hassle installation, easy upgrade process, prompt engineer callout.
Anonymous
Quick and easy install- no man needed! Also no set up fees which was good. Relatively cheap. Signal is sometimes infrequent.
Anonymous
Terrible customer service. My Internet was going off randomly for months. I had to take time off work for an engineer to come but he just looked at it, from a distance and then asked me to switch the routers.
Anonymous
Great prices and discounts but awful service have had many problems and issues customer service is not great either failed to fix issues promptly and to compensate appropriately
Anonymous
The service is overall really good in terms of price-quality balance. The installation was organised easily and the engineer came as arranged. Afterwards, we are paying our bills via a direct debit. so there is no hassle with that either. The only slight problem is that sometimes the connection breaks down or the reception is not great, but usually good connection is restored within a couple of minutes. With Compare the Market, we received a 60 pound Tesco card for choosing this TalkTalk offer, which was a great perk.
Anonymous
Great value for what I'm paying. Internet speeds could be faster but does the job. Happy with the company as a whole.
Anonymous
I am on an unlimited broadband plan and it is mostly pretty good. Sometimes the connection is poor and you have to reboot the router, especially if there are numerous devices connected. Had a problem once with connection and talktalk sent over a new router promptly. Overall pretty good
Anonymous
connection is very temperamental. customer service is appalling and the prices are too high. I prefer using my mobile network to using the wifi.
Anonymous
They say that have the fastest broadband but it's really not the best. Changing to Sky the middle of this year.
Anonymous
Really easy to set up. Spoke to the company over phone and set up direct debit then they sent the box over which had very simple setting up options. Internet has been super reliable, we have the chance to upgrade to a faster one but as the internet is fast we haven't needed too!
Anonymous
This wifi is very reliable and the company is extremely helpful and responsive to requests and queries. The direct debit made it easy to pay with no stress and the reminders when my contract was coming to an end made it simple to renew. I am very happy with this service.
Anonymous
Sometimes the internet is very slow and when a lot of people use it is very slow. Also when you put the password in it says that it is incorrect even when it is correct which is annoying and frustrating
Mike Briscoe
Good quality broadband, always reliable and provides really quick internet. Good value for money at £23.50 a month, would definitely recommend for students.
