Studenteer is an exciting new opportunity for students and graduates alike to broaden your horizons and give back to your local community.

Volunteering is a great way to give something back whilst learning new skills and gaining valuable experience. This is where Studenteer comes in. A sister project of Furlonteer, which is a community initiative to find volunteering opportunities for furloughed employees, Studenteer aims to do the same thing for students, enabling them to develop crucial skills away from the classroom, with partnerships that benefit students and charities alike.

The incentive is underpinned by a partnership with UniHeads, to help offer students online mental health and wellbeing training. The Studenteer scheme helps participants by growing their knowledge of marketing, business development, design and website development via remote volunteering opportunities. The programme is customisable for the individual, with schemes ranging from a few hours a month to several hours a day.

In the words of Furlonteer co-founder Sam Tasker-Grindley:

‘Students are up against it. It feels very similar to the fallout of the financial crisis where opportunities for students were few and far between. We want to do our bit to help open doors for talented and enthusiastic students. Studenteer will be run by students for students. It’s a very exciting project for the team to express themselves and hone their skills.’
